You are Awesome!!! Thank you so much!!! Fixed this issue in my CL 500. Got a lot of rain and the same spot filled up with water causing the same issue! Glad to have the radio back.
Just want to say Thank You for saving me also. I was just gifted a 2001 w220 S500 designo and the Bose stereo started acting up intermittently with "no cd changer" then after 200 mile trip, suddenly "magazine empty" and stereo worked for the rest of THAT day. Then "no cd changer", even though I have a few more of the fiber optic cables (phone, navigation) in my vehicle your TRICK worked for me perfectly! Now I use a FM transmitter in the cig lighter with a USB loaded with MP3's and Bluetooth from Amazon and it is totally modernized and sounds GREAT! Thanks! Plus, I can always get a rebuilt cd changer and put everything back to original!
@@wilie09 My man, I'm so glad it worked for You. Car without music is worse, than without AC. And thank You for getting back to me, and letting me know. Appreciate it brotha.
thank you, my friend, with your video, you saved me a lot of money. and because we don't know each other, I'il drink a wisky for your health. thanks again
Sooner or later it happens, and it happened to my car too. Video was great, in less then 15 minutes I had the cd-charger by-passed at a cost of 0$/€. - GREAT SOLUTION -
Does the circuit have to be completed if the cd player got removed by someone previous to me? Is that why im not getting sound? I see a plug ik guessing for the cd changer but no cd changer in sight! Mine is a w202 94
Hey my radio no longer has it’s options such as ambient modes driver optimization etc it jus says classical pop and manual and the sound completely stopped im not surr what settings messed up help please
Hey i have a c280, the gears were catching a few times then all of a sudden one morning i started it and when i went to leave the gear shift wouldn't move like it was stuck. The battery light came on that week also, then ilafter it sit that day i had to jump it off to start it back up. Could it be the battery causing the gears not to ahift ?
I'm having the same issue with no sound from my radio. I have 2015 c300 and it has the Audio 2.0 Burmester system. I dont have a CD changer. I see the amp in the trunk and when I pulled out the fiber cable from the amp there was no light on. I have looked through a ton of internet suggestions and nothing seems to work.
Thanks man u saved me alot of money and phone calls to dealerships I did the same thing u did and my radio works but the cd player doesn't work does that have to do with the cd changer
I checked to see if the automated voice would say something when i pull the phone lever on the steering wheel and nothing. Do you think it’s my phone module? I have a 2002 cl55 and after a heavy storm yesterday I have no sound. Will this process work on my car?
Thx for this video man i work tomorrow to see if it works. I have also the same problem no sound anymore but i have the bose system do you have it also?
In W221 cd changer is i front, so it can not be the same problem. But I guess it's the same optical wire loop system. So all You have to do is to find faulty component. Have You checked the fuses?
Blessed Credits I didn’t do it... my radio went out about a month ago, also de AC. I replaced the fuse and the AC Worked... radio didn’t still, I was about to do what This video said... my ac fuse blew again. I replaced it with a 20 amp instead of the 10 or 15 that the AC FUSE is... and then magically my radio worked again... so didn’t have to anymore 🤷🏻♂️
@@rastahomestead6097 Ahhh okay...so it didn't work still. Can I disconnect everything else and just directly keep the one fiber optic connection from amp to the stereo? I won't have to bypass anything anymore if I remove all other modules and CD changer right? I have a 2003 S500.
If cause is the same, it will work. Just try it, it is easy 30min job. And You don't break anything. The wire You remove, could be put back together without any problem.
@@blessedcredits3166 It indicates the same problem. You have to find faulty component in audio chain, by bypassing it. Does cd changer, telephone work?
@@blueninja9188 Simply unplugging will not help, optical circuit should be closed, so You have to do the same with phone module cable as I did with CD changer.
Check if power comes to Your cd changer. It is one of two cables that comes into CD changer. One is optical cable, another is power cable. It should be red or orange wire, and should give You 12V, when radio is on.
@@blueninja9188 You have to take everything out of that compartment, clean it, and make drain plugs work again. If You skip that step, You will destroy components again, after repairing.
@@rastahomestead6097 What kind of problems? I think it's just sitting outside. My 220 sat for almost a year at one time with fuel stabilizer and battery disconnected. It didn't get issues from it. But it was in a garage.
