that's super strange & shady that the shelter did that with the cat you had a hold on. I've done stuff with my local shelters a lot and always adopted cats from shelters, & I have never heard of a shelter doing anything like that. I'm actually going into veterinary medicine and this kind of stuff is the behavior we're told by our instructors to look out for & be wary of when adopting or helping someone adopt an animal, it's very sketchy. it kinda sounds like either something the foster family did or someone at the shelter just somehow mixed up the records of two animals, although that would be pretty hard since the records probably have both the animal's info and the foster family (I do know people who are dumb enough to do that tho lol). I would keep trying to work it out cause at the very very least you should probably be able to get your deposit back since you didn't end up with the animal, or maybe have it like put towards another cat at the shelter or something.

I haven't even watched the whole thing yet, I just had to pause after the intro to say how much I'm loving the body positivity! I'm a plus sized gal myself at a size 20. I work at Torrid, a clothing store for plus sized women, and it's all about loving ourselves! My life has changed so much since I started working there. I've been there a year and a half now, and in my 40's, I'm finally in a place where I can love myself.

I'm so sorry about your cat situation, hopefully you don't have a lonely boy for too long and they're able to resolve for you.

1) Lyra (or hoop) is indeed harder than pole at beginner level because of the reasons you pointed out, and it hurts worse because of grip tape and a smaller diameter, but, as you progress in acro, it's way different, since you don't have to hold your full weight while doing tricks and dancing. My teacher always recommends some hoop classes as complementary to pole training because it trains both sides at the same time, and I agree with her (also, it's sooo much fun). 2) I had the same issue with the adoption of my cats: I put them on hold for a month while they were being weaned (they were newborn foundlings without a mom to care for them and I never had cats before, so I let more experienced people do that) and one of the foster people grew attached to the girl I chose, so the shelter just told me that and gave me the option to adopt just my boy (black boy as well) or choose another girl, which is what I did and this is how I ended up with my two heathens. It's most likely what has happened to "your" other cat, but the shelter didn't have the guts to tell you the truth, which is kinda shady. Anyway, the world is full of unfortunate cats who need a home and you'll have no problem in finding another companion to your anxious vøïd, especially if you're looking for adult cats. EDIT to clarify: my cats are not related to each other nor was the other girl who was adopted by the foster caregiver, no litters were split because all three of them were only kittens (the boy lost all of his siblings who were killed by a dog, my girl was found alone in a field at about 10 days old, and the other girl had a similar story, they're all fine).

I also used to have a male black cat, he was the sweetest, gentlest boy.

I do the same thing for my cat I raised his water bowl and his eating bowl. So his dry food is raised, and when it comes to wet food he only likes the gravy out of it.. his name's Charlie and he's a very picky eater. But I love him to pieces, he was a homeless Kitty at my Denon Street and he was dirty smelly and skinny, so I brought him home cleaned him up took him to the vets and got him his shots and got him fixed and now he's my little plump alump...

Dude I found a VERY similar cabinet like the one you did at a thrift store - bottles also included and with two drawers lol. I painted it white with cold handles and distressed it, filled the bottles with herbs, and I put incense cones in the little drawers 😊

I've had My own shelter drama and sympathize. You'll find a stray at some point. My tabby cats are super social, my recently deceased persian disliked EVERYONE. Lol

So very sorry about your cat non-adoption experience. I have had similar experiences and gave up on trying to adopt shelter animals as every time I found one I connected with there was some reason I couldn't take it home. 😪

Very sorry to hear that -- Me I would fight this -- I would go in in person and speak to the management (or owner if said facility) and show them all your records and that you have the sibling of this cat and had been waiting for it to heal. Plus if you have had the money placed on the cat and have called every week to see if the cat was ready since adopting the other I believe that rightfully it should be going home with you (I have fostered medical cats and once they were healed the adoptee was ready to pick them up) To me this sounds a bit fishy and Animal shelters can't afford bad reviews. I wish you best of luck in fighting this and hope to see you with the sibling soon (Hope I didn't sound to brash)🤞🤞

I very much agree it does sound very suspicious, that the foster family didn’t want to give the cat up. They probably worked with them before so she called in a favor. You did everything and the said it verbally and every week all was well, then all of a sudden. I’m sending positive vibes for when you talk to them that you get results.

Hi, I had a witchy question, baby witch here still learning the basics. If someone wants you to do something for them, a spell or enchantment or such, then how do you tell the difference between things you specifically need to go perform, versus things that you instruct them to do on their own? Like, if my sister on the other side of the country wants me to bless her garden and I chose to do it through a green man poppet, do I create the poppet and mail it to her with instructions on where to set it, do I need to take it there and place it myself, do I just stay where I am and give her the instructions on how to make it herself, etc? Or other similar situations with friends or family asking for spells, how do I know which ones I can perform and which ones they need to do themselves to be effective?

So in the UK they have these GU dessert pots that come in little glass ramekins.......and I can never have too many of those. They hold everything that's loose that I don't want to throw away. They're my baskets. They hold salt for charging crystals, my tiny spell jars and most recently they held dandelion roots I'd dried whilst I found a closed container. Also good as candle snuffers in a pinch. I'm so sorry about the shelter situation! Not wanting to make accusations or assumptions but it sounds to me like the foster family decided they wanted the cat. Whether the shelter cancelled your hold on their behalf or they did is another story :/ I hope it gets resolved. Really strange, normally shelters try to keep bonded siblings together and the fact you called every week to make sure your hold was still on, surely they would all know your voice by now even just over the phone. Especially as you had a deposit too, I would expect some sort of bank info attached to that to be asked for when cancelling a hold, even if you don't get the deposit back when cancelled.

Well, that sucks. I'd make sure people know about this particular shelter and what they did. As a business practice this is flat out wrong and at best they are heart breaking sloppy and at worse they collude with fosters and either way screw prospective customers over. and make sure they know you'll be getting the word out about them. There are other animal shelters and these people don't deserve your help.I'm sure other places will.

I would definitely be thinking the foster parent called pretending to be you to cancel the hold, purely speculation. Hopefully they can honor your deposit for another animal? If not there's other shelters, plenty of cats need good homes. The pole studio you teach at looks so fun!

Although, usually your sound is really good, and in this one, for the whole middle portion, the sound was almost entirely in the right ear (which is fine if you're not watching with headphones, of course) just usually your sound is amazing, so I find your videos easier to watch than other people's. I have really bad sound sensory issues, so I hugely appreciate your sound quality. Your videos are never painful for me (sound-wise), which is saying a lot. 😂 😭

For the cat situation, maybe you could push back a little, take in a printed copy of your phone records showing that you made no such call, and then on top of that, ask that they provide you with a phone record of that "call" from their end. Sometimes when it's your word affairs theirs, having those records to back you up really helps. At the very least they should fully refund the holding fee if nothing else can be done. That just really sucks :( I'm sorry, and hope it all works out in the end

Damn! I’m sorry Olivia, that’s just wrong. The foster obvi used pull to get that to happen. There are many foster fails that occur but honestly the cat was on hold to you and should have been given to you per the agreement. The fact that they also kept the fee makes it fraud. Ugh!!
