My drain plug nut on my ‘24 Mercury 60/40 jet is 18mm, not 11/16”……but appreciate the video.👍

Thanks for a great video. Where did you get the motor cover? Also, a shared tip - 50/50 mix of white vinegar and window cleaner makes a great motor cleaner.

I’m not sure about that. I bought mine used and change the oil and lower unit fluid once per year. I would check owners manual or call Mercury.

If your unit is new,It should have came with a book or you can google it on procedure break in hours required by warranty and it will give you the hours when to change the oil,lower gear oil and fuel filters . I installed the vesselview on my motor and it Bluetooth to your phone and you can keep up with the hours on the motor with that and keep a log of all the maintenance.

Believe it or not. When the motor cranks over, the impeller spins down below. If the impeller is dry, it could break off the fins when you turn over the motor. I would never crank my motor dry. Just saying. Otherwise great job on the video.

just running the engine under a min will do no damage to the impeller. it will not get hot enough to cause any damage. there is video on RU-vid that they tested this.
