We had both a 7.5 and 9.8. As a kid, I used to take the 9.8 and leave the 7.5 for my dad. haha. Even just the sound of this running brings back some very fond memories. Thanks for posting. :)
Ive been running this motor with just gas im such an idiot. thank god i found this video before i did some damage..... 50:1 i see in one of your comments. THANK YOU-
Thunderbolt 110 are closer to 12 horsepower. In 1984 the regulations changed for Dyno testing outboard motors, because some of the manufacturers were under-rating their engines to beat the competition
What blade prop do you have on? I have the exact same motor and am only getting 13.5 mph, if I convert kt correctly you are around 19 mph. Anything else you have done to achieve the higher speeds?
It's even worse this year for me, past weekend I was only getting 11 MPH. I have to find the rpm range of this motor, I bought a tach for it. I'm half wondering if it just needs to be tuned properly. Or the motor is just getting old.
Nice I dug out my old long leg non electric start, wish i could find the parts at a reasonable price! I'll be using it on a quicksilver 3.2m inflatable.
Hey dog hey Doug my name is Tommy I like to know if you got a carburetor for that same model boat that you got there if you do contact me I would love to buy it off of you
@@Bigtime_mcalpine I bought mine with a weird connector sticking out in the front of it above the choke, I never realized that could be the starter plug. Good to know hehe
