This is an introduction to my personal vehicle, a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis with a TR3650 5-speed manual transmission swapped into it. With the manual transmission, short gear ratios, tune, and limited slip differential, the 0-60 time has been reduced by nearly 2 seconds over stock.

That's not bad considering a stock Crown Vic has a 0-60 of about 9 seconds

Yes, the car's performance is almost unrecognizable from its stock form. It's really fun to drive a big sedan with a stick

Beautiful! Get some more grippy tires and take out the 6 piece luggage set you got in the trunk and you'll get it under 7!

Pretty decent improvement for not swapping or upgrading the motor. A good transmission helps, too.

Imagine a full size sedan from the late 90s with a 7.5 second 0-60. That manual really wakes the car up👍

When you put it in that context, it does seem more impressive! 7.5 seconds would've given a lot of cars a good scare back then haha

First of all folks, that is a LEGITIMATE 7.2 seconds. If car and driver would have tested it (with 1 foot rollout) it would have been about 6.5

It looks like 2nd takes you to right around 65mph? I have 3.27 currently and I want to make sure I dont have to shift 3 times before 60.

Then 3.73 is probably the shortest ratio. 4.10s might require 3 shifts, but can't say for sure. I think 3.73 is great, but sometimes I think 3.55s would be better for everyday use

Ok rev to 1500 and dump the clutch you get slite wheel spin and catch second gear pretty ground that should help with the times Ik it did on my new edge mustang

Gauge pod is from ADTR, and the tachometer is by Glowshift Gauges

Yep. Though bucket seats were a very rare option available on the LSE trim. Though to call them "buckets" would be an exaggeration. They were more like 2 arm chair recliners instead of this couch haha

Expect a bit of swearing, a lot of sparks, and nearly a week of 8-12 hour days working on it. That's with a lift, 3 people, and a mechanic's toolbox

My automatic grand marquis does 0-60 in 5.3 before warmed up and 3.5 when fully warm even with traction control on

Not a chance. The next most common gear ratio people run on these cars are 4.10's, which is the next step up from my 3.73's. I find it hard to believe you'd cut 2 more seconds off with a small jump in ratio like that. When I went from 2.73 to 3.73, it only took 1second off the 0-60

@@HighMileageReviews my dad has a 2012 ppv caprice, i dont know if you know what that is but it has a 6 litre corvette engine and we ran like a 6.5 0-60 after we drifted around a traffic light
