I’m still running the 21 yr old oem bulbs in my MGM and getting ready to upgrade. In my wife’s car I used supposed super bright 55w halogens and they were not so great and burned out quickly. Then 18 months ago I put this brand in and immediately noticed the difference. Brighter and not as yellowish light. Replaced the light housing several months ago which were like yours a bit weathered but not too bad and the difference was dramatic. You might want to consider replacing them for the full effect. I was surprised at the difference new housings made.

I like that you can replace them without taking the whole headlight out like I have to with the Town Car. Do they not blind traffic? It’s hard to tell from the video but I know some led bulbs do.

I have to figure out how to adjust the headlights because these are bright. So far no one has flashed me with their high beams as if I was blinding them…but to think they might be lil high!
@SlikLizrd
@SlikLizrd 6 месяцев назад
You only changed the BULB -- NOT the light fixture -- no adjustment of the light fixture should be required or necessary. The LEDs are definitely brighter, but they tend to scatter the light more than the OEMs. Some people WILL flash their lights at you. Adjustment of the light beam will NOT help. It is what it is. 😁 @@LoveWhatYouDrive

Hi. With that type of led configuration . You have to put them in the right way. If like yours the light chips are one on top of the other. One is chip for dip beam and other for full beam. As i have seen in another vlog. It has to go in a certain way to not blind other drivers. And also so that you get correct light cut of line.

Big difference in light output. Our panther platform cars may be old, but they don't have to look old. I have L.E.D's on all my cars. Thanks to my "wife" complaining about driving at night. And not seeing well now no more complaints. 💯 % 👍🏻

@@LoveWhatYouDrive I bought headlights made in Taiwan by Depo Company. Unfortunately, the left side has a straight light, and the right side has a slanted headlight. The headlights are fine. I don’t know what the reason is.

YO, Love !! Those LED lites are a plenty bright, but the RELIABILITY is shaky. I put a set of LEDs in the famous 95 MERC, and they were a plenty bright -- BUT -- they both just WENT DARK for no apparent reason -- at night -- on a country road. After that thrilling experience, I yanked 'em out and went back to the OEMs. The Instructions say to NEVER TOUCH the LED bulb with BARE HANDS, as the "oil" from our fingers will cause premature FAILURE of these lights. I followed the instructions carefully, and wore medical gloves during the install. The LEDs suddenly failed, but there was no blown fuse. I hope y'all have better luck than me. I used a different brand, NOT the AutoOne brand. Good Luck !!

Hey Chuck, I agree with you 💯. A month or so Is definitely not enough time to rest the longevity of the bulbs, I did have a good run on another pair of bulbs I bought in the very beginning, close to a year with no issues, ended up giving them to another Mercury owner and they still using them. But also had a failed led lights which I won’t mention name of after few months of use and I had high hopes for them. Sometimes it’s a hit or miss. But I always keep the stock halogen pair in the car just incase something happens like it did with you. Thanks for stopping by!

YEP. That's always a good idea -- keeping spare bulbs and fuses in the glove box -- and mebbe a bottle of Southern Comfort.😁@@LoveWhatYouDrive

@SlikLizrd have to grab few more fuses to add to the couple I have..no southern comfort for me, but I do keep the Merc stocked with a bottle of marvel mystery oil.. 😉

Using MMO ?? I'll say a prayer for ya, Love. Over the decades, I've used every kind of engine additives on the market -- on both domestic and foreign vehicles, with NO actual measureable benefits from ANY of them, including the popular MMO. Now-a-days, peeps just WANNA BELIEVE that this stuff works, or they don't wanna admit that it doesn't. 😁
@LoveWhatYouDrive
@LoveWhatYouDrive 6 месяцев назад
@SlikLizrd I went through 2 gallons of Lucas fuel additive and few bigger bottles of MMO… and I have not seen any mileage Increase as both do claim it. But with the MMO I do feel and “see” a difference how it drives, as if putting in premium fuel. But that’s my observation…
