LONG DESCRIPTION AHEAD:
i don't even know where to begin with this description. i stopped watching greys anatomy at the end of season 10 because it had become unbearable to watch. i never thought the day would come where derek would be killed off. it's a joke, it's a massive joke and shonda has really messed up this time. it was rushed and messy and although i haven't watched the whole episode i've been told the writing was terrible. for a character and a love story which was the heart of the show to have such a badly written and sudden ending is disgusting.
the reason behind his death was shonda and him had a fight of some sort and, as childish and unprofessional as she is, she decided to end his contract (which was still on until the end of season 12) and kill him off. patrick was told barely a month before it happened and i don't think they even knew a couple of episodes ago. it's made me want to forget this show even existed, if i'm honest. i mean meredith has lost literally everyone, whos next shonda? her children?
not only is the death poorly written and unnecessary, but you can bet the aftermath is gonna be terrible too. shonda has never been good at showing post-deaths and i'm sure it's gonna be awful. an 11 year love story gone within a few minutes.
(the voiceovers are a mess. oh well. and it's mainly s1-4 because those were the best)
