Meringue Cookies Without Cream Of Tartar Recipe / How To Make Meringue Without Cream Of Tartar

Those Meringue Kisses are crisp and light and will melt in your mouth. They are easy to make, with only 3 ingredients, without cream of tartar.
Note: Please make sure bowl is super clean before whipping the egg whites. Rub bowl with a little bit of vinegar or lemon juice and wipe dry. Do not use plastic bowl.
Makes about 20-25 meringue cookies.

2 Large Egg Whites
1 tbsp (15 ml) Lemon juice
1 cup (125 g) powdered / icing sugar
Pink Food Coloring Gel (optional)

Nice, easy recipe! I don't have cream of tartar or granulated/white sugar so this is a great recipe for me.

You can use white vinegar.

No, I would not recommend using granulated sugar instead of powdered/icing sugar. Thank you

I just picked up some cream of tartar, how much should I use for this recipe? All other recipes I find online use way more eggs, and I don't need to make that many cookies 😅 I want to experiment using flavor extracts and worry the lemon juice might mess up the flavor

A Tablespoon of Lemon Juice may be quite a lot of liquid for only two (2) egg whites.....Some other recipes on RU-vid here give one (1) Teaspoon of Lemon Juice per three (3) egg whites. Also, extend the beating until the mixture is truly at "stiff peak" consistency.

I found that it takes quite a long time with my mixer to reach stiff peaks, way longer than I expected 😅 I was worried I messed the recipe up, but it just takes time. If you try again start at a low speed and work your way up to medium, then high. I alternate between medium and high until it stiffens
