Hey guys, in today’s review article we will be talking about the Merkur 180. This is a very popular safety razor in the Merkur lineup and it is otherwise known as the long handled safety razor. There’s no wonder where they got this name from. For all of you wet shavers with very large hands this might be a good safety razor for you in your lineup. This safety razor reminds me very closely of the Merkur 33c because the headpiece is almost identical, even the style and shape of the handle. Let’s get right into the bulk of my Merkur 180 review so you can see if the safety razor is the one for you.

if you have tendinitis or pain in your hand like me this razor is amazing. Gripping shorter razors can cramp your hand. this one works great. it's about 20 dollars.

Been shaving for a long, long time and this 23c is my favorite...! Not too heavy, shaves great, no weepers and no razor burn...! It's an amazing razor... And a great daily driver...!

"180" in USA, "23C" in Europe - same razor (different prices on Amazon).

Just got this, been shaving with a straight razor shavette and have been really diggin it, but it's just not practical for me. I'm more into just getting a pretty close, quick shave. Not all the prep that goes with a straigh razor shave. Hopefully it works out.

I've been using this for a few days and its not aggressive enough for me but I come from a straight razor background. I just don't have the time some mornings to shave with a straight. But this is decent.

You can always put some kind of shim between the blade and the base plate to increase the blade gap and make the razor more aggressive. That's the great thing about mild razors: they're so damn easy to make more aggressive, while the same is not true if you want the reverse from an overly aggressive razor.

How's it compare agressive wise to the 20c? I love my 23c but want to have other reasons and found most others to be too agressive compared to the 23c
