Great job on the video. As far as my favorite razor I am still researching which ones I like best. I've bought several the last couple months. A 1958 d4 fatboy , 1963 i3 slim , a Rockwell 6c , model T , a Vikings blade ragnarr edition crusader. HL-xs 21 , van der, , and my newest razor is. Merkur progress long handle the mk510. I love both of my Rockwell s they are so smooth on setting 3 and are my go to razors . I just purchased the mk 510 and really love it because of how efficient it is. Even on setting 1 with my favorite voskhod Blade. . it gives me a bbs shave easily. As far as a favorite its a competition between. The Rockwell model T and the mk 510 . the rockwell is less aggressive and very smooth. The mk 510 is more aggressive/ efficient. The 510 is the better value $44. Vs $150. The 6c in my opinion is one of the best values on the market.

Hi 👋 Progress is very similar with Parker Variant. Same construction,same levels of adjustment, 2 piece razor, same adjustment mechanism, dimensions very similar. And I think now, Variant is a bit cheaper then Progress. And the look is different than the Progress. But I will still choose the Progress for the old school look. That is my personal opinion 👍 Have a good one! Cheers!
You can go past the 5 setting on the razor. Keep turning the knob past the 5 until you are on the 1 setting. This is now the equivalent of a 6 setting. 2 = 7, 3 = 8, 4 = 9 and 5 = 10.
Savage shave Alex, right out of the gate using the progress on setting 5! My favorite shave is the Progress (long handle) with Proraso white or green shave cream, also I use the white pre-shave and white balm afterwards. The highest I use the progress is setting 3 or 3.5. Lol on the wife 🚨 You’re right about the Futur being more aggressive. Try the progress with an Astra blade. You’re videos are getting better and better too:)

Yep, Astras work the best in the progress for me also. I also prefer the long handle, and I have two of them. One for home…one for travel. One has a Mergress knob, the other an Opgress (the Opgress is a better knob).

I have had a Merkur 34C for years and will stepping up to the Merkur Progress Long Handle Adjustable Safety Razor. Best review so far I have seen on the Progress Razor, keep it up...
I've had Merkur 23c and was great for beginners then moved up to a viking butterfly style which I though was great mild aggressive and today my merkur progress came in so I'll be using it first thing in the morning. Can't wait to use it
How does the Progress Long Handle compare to the Rockwell T, would appreciate your comments of this one, for I am also considering the Rockwell T, thank you so much for your advise.
Size wise are almost the same, Model T is 95 mm and the Progress is 103 mm. Now, from my experience that I had with them, personally I like better the Progress. It gives a smoother shave in my opinion and I like the retro look that it has 😁 On the other hand the Model T is easier to load due to the fact that is a TTO razor and it can be adjusted higher than the Progress. It goes till setting 6 and the Progress to setting 5+ But the blade aggression is almost the same on both, maybe the model T is a bit more aggressive. And the Model T is more expensive than the Merkur Progress. Now depends on you, which one you like better how it looks, the old school look of the Merkur or the modern look of the Model T. If I had to choose I would go with the Progress, but that is just my personal opinion 😉 Both razors are great! Let me know which one you get 👍 Keep in touch & stay safe. Cheers! ✌
