Merle was such a good singer. He hung around Willie so much that he started phrasing a little like him and also had some of his nasal sounds. Merle, you were truly what a country singer should sound like instead of this rock cra* they call country now. RIP
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU. MERLE AND WILLIE BOTH HAD THAT STYLE OF SINGING.....I BELIEVE IT IS CALLED VIBRATO, AND I SO ENJOY THEM ON MY TOP FAVORITES, AS WELL AS KING GEORGE.,!!!!🎵🎵
The best of the best are now gone. and NO ONE will ever fill their shoes. Merle's in heaven now with Waylon, George, Johnny. RIP.I will miss you'll every day. My husband Gil is probably close by listening to their music.

Merle Haggard........................One of the World's Best Country Singers. To you Pietro Pacini for all the work you have done for us in choosing the best music to preserve.
I absolutely love him as I inherited it from my Momma LuAnn. She passed in 1997 but she loved Merle so much!!! He is the true meaning of COUNTRY MUSIC.
Everybody who enjoyed hearing Merle sing will miss him now. He sang real Country Music and we were lucky to hear him sing. With all these great singers going the world is slipping away, there are so few of them left. We were the lucky ones to be here when they sang their songs.
There will never be anyone to replace Merle Haggard and his slew of beautiful songs. I love his music and chord progressions in his music. Glad I got to see Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and Ray Price in concert in Presques Isle,Me. Great performance and soooo enjoyable!!
Thank you Merle, you and this song will always be loved by real hardcore country fans forever. See you in paradise. Cheers LP: Okie From Muskogee...Today I Started Loving You Again Written by Merle Haggard & Bonnie Owens c1968, 1969 G C G D7 G
God Bless your soul Merle. I feel as if a member of my family has died. He was a part of the sound track of my life growing up. His music touch our souls from our modern 4' Console Stereo ... Life was Good. My family migrated to the SW from Oklahoma ... all around the Muskogee area. The music will play on, and provide sweet memories.

The novice first thinks all Hag's songs sound alike. Then, suddenly, realizes not even any two lines are ever the same. He insinuates his voice into your musical psyche, and it is so damn comforting to have him there..............
This is when music was real, yes they had some equipment to work with, but their singing was amazing. They didn't have the luxury of dubbing and editing stuff. I love old country.
Love, love you and miss you but we will see you when we get there. Now we know why heaven is such a beautiful place to be. Keep singing Merle. Wow what a reunion that has to be in heaven with our loved ones and friends and all the awesome singers whom are now with the their creator and gave you the singing talent.
It seems that every time I hear a Merle Haggard song, I start loving him again. I always remember hearing Strangers and Swinging Doors in the 60s, and saying to my friends that he was going to be one of our greatest country music stars.
I've loved merle haggards' music since I was very young. he was a triple threat. He can sing, write a great song, and he can play the guitar like nobody else. Rest in peace Merle. You and George kick out the footlights in heaven now.
Thank you Merle, I'm a Bakersfield girl who grew up hearing your music - you were one of the best of the best - and you won't be forgotten - you're in our hearts forever.
I love Merle Haggard music. This is real country music. His music is so real. I go see him in concert every chance I get. In concert its him , his singing and his band. He don't need all that other crap. that they use to make a show. LOVE YOU Merle.
I sure miss Merle Haggard.. Great classic old country music..Lots of memories listening to him..Country music was paved by Merle and some of the other old greats..It's come a long ways in many different varieties, but the old country had a life of it's own and will always be the best..Songs come and go, but no one can forget the country classics.. :)
Never been a country fan (aside from Johnny Cash), but after a recent breakup in January this gem was playing in the background somewhere.....Merle, you just picked up another fan.
Merle did this show at the old Ryman in nashville. He was just coming outta bankruptsy. I felt so sorry for him--He started a comback and he did it--He is now the greatest country that there ever was- They only come by every 100 years- Merle is now 71. He has proved if one has the talent noone can take it away from you- Right on Merle- A true professional.
he is up there with most of the rest of the greatest county music singers . even though I did not know merel he was a deer frand of mine thanks for all the years of your music.
The oldies are the best! I'm sorry to see it's no longer. My brother is only 40 but has always made every effort to look like merle and he IS his twin.
