‘In celebration of International Women’s Day 2018 I salute my mother Merle, an early second wave feminist activist. A great deal has changed since then, but still a long way to go towards equality of opportunity for all.’ Sigrid Thornton
Rather pathetic, pretending that their human rights had somehow been violated just because they couldn’t drink in a public bar with a lot of grubby blokes. Why on earth would they want to do that anyway? Especially when they had the privilege of their own lounge, provided for them by the hotel. There is no comparison here with the women of 100+ years ago, who fought for the right to vote, or the right to own property. This was nothing more than a cheap, contemptuous stunt.
