Here is my very first RU-vid video woohoo!
This is a comparison and tutorial on the Original Mermade Hair Waver and also the NEW Mermade Mini Waver!
I received the Mini Waver a while back and was waiting for it to come out, on to the market so I could try it out and show you guys!
Absolutely LOVE the smaller wave, and I know you will too!

I recently came upon this product but wanted to know the difference between their OG and mini. Your the only video I could find and I loved your review. I do wish however that you would showcase both sides more so I could really see the difference and help me make my decision on what to get.

Totally agree! This was my first ever recording, editing and uploading to RU-vid so my apologies I didn't show enough of the wave at the end 😊 I will pop a photo up this week on my IG with a photo of the mini and the larger waves so you can see the difference 😍 absolutely love them both but the smaller wave is super cute! Thanks so much for this review it was really helpful! I’ve been tossing up between the two sizes, I have very fine hair that’s just past my shoulders so I think the mini waver would be perfect 😍 I haven’t seen any other reviews like this!

I’ve just ordered the mini. Love the original but damn it’s heavy haha hope the mini is lighter. The heat glove is essential, I’m so grateful for them for supplying one. I did burn my ear on it though 😱 Can’t wait to get my mini! Thanks for the great video comparison, best on YT. Do you have a crimper? I’d love to see some content with the crimper!!! But I assume you are back to work now? Good on NZ you are an inspiration to us in Melbourne right now... 💓

Lucy Holmes Oh thankyou for such kind words 🥰 it will get easier each time you use it, trust the process! I always suggest to clients, try and use it without it being on, so you can figure out what works for you with placement. Then turn on the heat and get wavy baby! Yes all back to full time work, hasn’t stopped here which is a blessing but I would LOVE to do more videos. Stay tuned 😎

I didn't know that they also came out with a mini one! I've been deliberating getting the original for a while now however am unsure because I don't usually spend too much time on my hair. Which one would you suggest for longer thicker hair?

The Original Waver would work perfectly for your thicker, longer hair. Larger barrels so it covers more ground! ♥️

OMG I am going back through this video and I can’t believe I never mentioned the sizes! The O.G waver have 32mm Barrels and the Mini waver has 25mm barrels 🥰 Will have to update description! 😅 Hope you enjoyed ❤️

Why didn’t you use any setting spray? Because as soon as I go to the other side to wave,the first parts I did lose the wave. So I bought Redken hot sets 22 thermal spray. It protects and holds

Thanks for your comment! You definitely can use what ever works for you 🥰 I didn't feel the need to use any hairspray/setting spray in my hair,it stays quite well when I use the Mermade Waver - so does many of my clients, it depends on your hair type and how you have prepped the hair before hand 😊 so glad you have found something to help hold the waves in! 💕

If from washed - use heat protection, smoothing fluid then blowwave smooth (if the hair is super curly/frizzy then straighten the hair slightly first) Then wave away 💕

I have short thin hair.. I do prefer wider waves like the OG has.. do you think I could still get away with the OG one? I was going to go with mini but I prefer the OG side preference wise. Thank you!

Nikki_1413 The OG can still work great on BOB length hair. All you would need to do is clamp down once then go to your next section😊 the mini would be easier to use though on shorter hair. If you have a Salon close to you who stocks both, I would suggest asking them to trial out the wavers on either side and see what you feel looks better and what's easier for you to do at home . Hope that's helped! ❤️❤️

Diana Silva I would hope not! 400•C would fry your hair off, that is probably in Fahrenheit which would be 200 degree Celsius😊

Diana Silva the 32’’ would be fine! And you can do larger sections for a softer wave also 😊 I use the 32’’ quite often for an easy day-day look.

Hi Hannah! Yes absolutely, my hair is fine and medium length but I have clients with bobs who use the Mini and now they've brought out an even smaller waver called The Cutie at 22mm barrels where as the Mini has 25mm barrels 🥰 Both supppper cute! Mermade Hair have since upgraded their technology as this is an old video. Maybe time for a new YT video with the upgraded versions? Stay tuned...

Hey! Oh it really depends if you are wanting a softer looking wave or a tighter beach wave. Both will work great on your hair it’s all down to preference. 🥰 The mini is easier to hold if you are not used to hair tools. Hope that helps! ❤️
