As someone that grew up poor in the barrio, I can totally relate to what Mero is saying. Having a garage to put your shit in is exotic. Stuff that those of you that grew up in basic American homes take for granted. I now have a vacuum for my hardwood floors & two cars. When I was growing up we took the bus everywhere. I have health insurance & dental after growing up on free clinics. Never take those things for granted. #MadeIt

yep, me too. I grew up in the projects of Spanish Harlem, then lived in da Bronx, then the hubby and I brought a house in Westchester. Two acres, 2k square foot ranch house with a detached garage. I'm gonna die here, never moving.
