I love this ruleset. I think it adds a lot to BJJ and it doesn't compromise the problems with gloves. I do this the EBI overtime should be till submission or time rather than escape.
Here in Brazil we call it "Taparia". It's basic a no-gi roll with slap. "Tapa" in portuguese means "slap". "Taparia" sounds like "a place that serves slaps" LoL... It was very common in Rio, but I never heard about competitions. Maybe, because it was just a kind of trainning for Vale Tudo ( the father of MMA)
I propose, in addition to "slap grappling" and South American versions, " slap grappling and BJJ," where contenders can bite the opponent on the body wherever they want (maybe we exclude male and or female private parts ?) . Meditate people, meditate...
Honestly, totally agree. maybe some kicks too. I think close fisted punches wouldn’t be that bad either. Oh and then you should add a cage as well! Wait…
I LOVE combat BJJ, I can pull videos of it up and claim this is what I'm training for, after I smack my rolling partner in the face because he was about to submit me.
The madness prevailing in the world of MMA now knows no boundaries: the latest (crazy?) novelty is the "slap Grappling" or "Bjj slap" born from the minds (minds? Let's talk about it...) of the lovers of MMA disciplines. I have no doubt that this discipline (discipline?) will also become official and praised by people who love MMA. At this point I also propose the "biting the opponent's body" variant...what do you think???
Bro Eddie bravo you could make a non brain damage ufc Imagine ufc, but just now head shots allowed. All the jiu jitsu, Muay Thai, and body shots, just no head shots. People could have much longer careers and much more fights. And everyone would get great fight experience
These rules are so dumb to me personally. I do mma and if youre slapping on the ground you might as well add kickboxing too. What next, striking with standing subs? 😂
