Combat Jiu Jitsu Fight Night 1 @ The Florentine Gardens, CA
The first of hopefully many of these CJJ fight cards. The event featured 4 super fights, an 8 man Bantamweight tournament, and a 4 man Absolute tournament. The added danger of open-palm strikes while grappling on the ground brings out a lot of the core fundamentals and concepts of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Carlson Gracie Sr said it best, "Punch a black belt in the face, he becomes a brown belt. Punch him again, purple..."
