You could connect a couple of tubes to the one on the top/ceiling of the cage to make a big tunnel system for them

I keep my mice in a 5ft tall cage with 3 levels and 6 "compartments". A guy was selling it as a rat cage, and my mother hates rats, with a passion.

The Rat Guru I have recently purchased a bird cage that I will be keeping my ratties in for a little Christmas present 🎁. Of course I will rat escape proof the cage but as for the shelves and ramps, I have wrapped them in newspaper securely and want to put layers of fleece around them as well. I need a nontoxic glue that will hold it down. What you you use for your rat cages? Could I please have some advice?

Fuxking Disappointment Personally I like fleece way better. You can just shake it out once a week and wash it once a month. Also, it's less of a mess and looks better in my opinion.

I have a rats cage that has moveable plastic platforms (the ones that snap into place on the wire of the cage and allow you to change the cage layout) which is great for changing things up and keeping it interesting but is there anyway I could attach wire or something to the cage so I can hang toys and hammocks under the platforms because I feel like hanging them from the top of the cage isn't enough

is hot glue ok for rats to injest? I had a platform I glued into their tank and I just noticed chew spots on the edge of the glue.

I had another concern tho I just got a new boy and he gets along well with my others but I think he had rat lice so my boys have lice now. how do i treat that? also my dumbo boy isn't gaining any wieght I can feel his bones but I know I'm feeding him a ton. this confuses me

Yes, but the dosage is really small, which makes it riskier than revolution.

alyssa Nicole you should never ever to tanks or bins amonia falls so when there is no way but up then the amonia builds up and it can cause upper respitorty infections

Nick Stiso those might be some sort of might. go to the vet. they will give you the medication they need. you also need to make sure you clean every part of their cage with vinager and water. that includes everything they play with or hide in. if they have wooden toys if they weren't to expensive I'd throw them away but anything that can hade being soaked keep.

Thank you for replying I was wondering as currently I have rats and after they have passed away I would like to have mice and I was wondering if the rat cage was suitable for the mice. I thought it might be suitable because the bar spacing is just over half a centimetre wide.

It is sorta a mouse sized rat type rodent. Its like a big mouse and are supposed to be really smart.

They are very difficult to care for, and they arent that people friendly. It takes a lot for them to get used to human interaction, as they are still wild in nature.

I disagree completely with the reply above. ASF can be friendly like mice, depending where you get them from, but it is a little less common. They are just as easy to care for as mice and are virtually the same care-wise.
