I'm just now getting there. I definitely love the way he's there for her. I think they did that because Mer was so close to Cristina, thus compelling Derek to want to be close to her.

This friendship is very personal to me. It very closely mirrors me and my best friends relationship. Obviously we didn’t almost die together multiple times, but just the way they connect with each other and how it isn’t soft and mushy like most tv best friends, they fight sometimes but always come back to each other cuz they are soulmates. In my opinion, THIS is the greatest love story in greys anatomy, maybe even most tv. Mertina forever
Nobody can recreate this person. Nobody. Maggie and Amelia are nice, Alex has grown to become a fine doctor, man and great friend for Mer, but there's just no equal to Yang. Nor will there ever be! 💔 By the way, if it was up to me, I'd make the last season feature ALL the greatest past characters appear for one last glorious season: Cristina; Derek; Addison; Callie; Arizona; George; Izzie; Sloan; Lexie; Denny; McVet; Ellis... I would bring the living characters back, I would do a special half-afterlife episode with the deceased, I'd incorporate Izzie's forgotten girl who had cancer looking for her mother prompting Alex and Mer to look for her, and I'd have Cristina come back- become chief of Cardio- be happy alone or with somebody- and most importantly, being with her person ❤
Nah man, when mer got attack. And Alex was there for her. I felt that is when alex truly shown how much he cares for mer. And how mer took care of alex when he almost went to prison.

Its so crazy seeing this comment now & on the 17th season when Meredith got covid & she saw Derek, Lexie, Sloan, and George on the beach when she almost died. Derek told her it's ok to love someone again & he sees his kids often. Lexie looked beautiful as ever. It was beautiful to see them all again. And she sees her mother all the time in her dreams so shes still on alot of episodes. But I just thought this comment you left was cool because it really happened years after you left it.
I love how even when Izzy was there, Meredith and Cristina always had that special bond that Izzy could never really figure out. I miss them together so much

It's funny how Meredith and Christina were two peas in a pod but Christina reminded Meredith of her mom. Maybe Christina was her way of getting close or understanding her mom.

This has touched me on so many levels, because I have moved countries recently and my best friend was my family in all the dark times and leaving her was harder than leaving my beloved school and teachers or the house I grew up in. But I know that we are not finished and she is still there for me and I’ll be for her too.
I have to admit when watching the show I always thought the friendship was overrated because it seemed like Meredith cared way more than christina did. That Christina was really independent and didn't need a person while Meredith was clingy to that friendship. It always felt so one sided so I never understood how people could love this friendship so much. But watching this, I realized Christina just handled her emotions and feelings differently, and perhaps it's not so one sided after all. Love.
i want her to come back, for the final episode when that happens. i mean i know that sandra said that shes not going back to greys but i think she would do just one final ep. shes honestly the best character on greys and i love her in killing eve.
im not gonna lie tp me at least it is still a good show by my standards but it is no longer a great show they took this show with a great legacy that made me want to beccome a surgon and made it ordinary

I had this...I was lucky she was my person. I felt incredibly fortunate to be understood by Ana my friend and most of the time I never had to speak...but then I made the mistake of falling for her and I decided to grow apart so that she will always remember me best for the moments shared and not by an occasional conflicted night where I could have potentially kiss her... I never did. She was my person and she will always be 💜
I never watched another episode after Derek died. Meredith and Derek were THE love story for me. But if I'm honest, when Christina left, I was already half way out the door.
M.A.G.I.C the first and last letter Meredith & Christina they are the life of this show and always will be. Everything in between is just another pawn in their friendship.
