It's amazing to watch this...Even as children, Charlie and Meryl moved with a confidence, grace and chemistry that makes me believe that they were predestined to be together, as a skating couple...They lived on the same street, as children...That's where their friendship began and, as they say, they rest is history!
I guess Meryl and Charlie were born to ice dance together! I absolutely love watching their performances especially in the last few years where they have practically attained perfection. They have taken my attention from ice pairs, ladies, and men's singles skaters!
Awww, they were so darn cute back then... but they were also quite talented despite their young age. Looking back, it's not surprising to see how successful they've become. Congrats to them for winning Team USA's 1st Olympic Ice Dancing GOLD MEDAL!! :D
It's incredible that this seems so long ago, and yet they aren't even 30 yet! You can see their moves haven't changed *that* much. On another note, you can tell how much technology has advanced...
Its so awesome to see the journey to where they are today. I am blown away at how smooth and poised they were a such a young age. Their hard work and dedication has made them World and Olympic Champions!!!
Oh how can ANYone possibly "dislike" this video...!! Love this and the videos of the very young Virtue/Moir too! And yes, according to Wikipedia Meryl was born in 1987 so she would have been 11/12 here...!
Wonderful outstanding ice dancers - the best in my opinion! They still are the only US team to have won the Gold Medal in Ice Dance (Sochi), the Silver before that (Vancouver), two World Championships, and 6 Grand Prix Golds (VM only got 1 Grand Prix after DW retired)!. Today ice dance is not even a sport in my mind. Davis and White won their medals when Ice Dance was a sport where great skill mattered! Now, fewer lifts (3 not 4), one spin, the quality of the lifts is way down, and even the twizzles are less rigorous. All that to get VM back on the podium after DW retired! And the US teams can only managed bronze medals in the Olympics. I wish they had not retired but they did it for their families and that is to be respected!
