This has to be one of the greatest Meshuggah live concert videos EVER recorded. The fidelity is perfect. The video quality, the frame rate, the positioning, the sound... As a superfan of meshuggah, I cannot thank you enough for posting this!!!
Absolutely. This is wonderful. Props to the recorder, you've made our lives better. The excitement to soon see 'em live increases! @TylerNassiri: in case you haven't: check out The Ophidian Trek. I don't mean to compare, I just want to share: the sound and production of that recording... ✊🏽
@@BenMoon-zv2gq They`re both good imo. Bass is really good on this one, but jens and guitars come through better for me on Bloodstock recording. Both great to listen to as a Meshuggah fan.
Dragged my boyfriend to this show as we were just getting over being sick. We seriously debated not going and just eating the ticket price, but.... holy shit. It was the best show we have seen in years, and we go to a ton of shows. Saw them on a Tool tour like 20 years ago, but this is a whole other level. Will never miss another. 33 🤘
This is exactly what i thought. I saw them live in may in Germany and Broken Cog is just a great heavy opener in my opinion. Right after that song was over I looked at my brother (who didn't really know what he was in for) and boom, the Rational Gaze pull-off of doom on the F String hit like a wrecking ball and the whole crowd went absolutely nuts. They really are one of a kind. Edit: Perpetual Black Second right after that was the ultimate finisher. If they had ended the concert after just these three songs, I would've gone home happy lol.
@@Sicel1304same as me, been a fan for 20+ years and I have yet to see them live 😢 I’ve wanted to eat a bunch of acid before a show like this one for years, I remember getting stoned listening to them in HS thinking they were so incredible that my brain was melting lol primus on acid was a ridiculously fun experience and phenomenal performance but this is on a different level
@@Sasquatch33 iirc i heard haake recently had problems with his leg or foot idk so they had to pull bleed off the playlist coz it was too much for him. then around when fredrik was doing his side project, they also had multiple problem playing bleed coz according to some, his temporary replacement somehow messes up the brrrtatabrrrtata riff of 2nd verse from time to time, not always tho
Bleed is insane. It is far from one of their best songs, but pulling it out and playing it night in and night out at the END of a set like this is crazy
I was there I still can’t believe how amazing they were, I mean I already knew how good they are but from the production to the sound it was just an experience of a master class live hahah unreal
It was so awesome to see them play Humiliative live. That song is almost 30 yrs old and None EP is almost forgotten about. Part of Meshuggah lore. When they were still building and refining their sound. Song still sounds fresh today.
@@TheVargen1971You’re probably thinking about his cousin, Fredrik Haake. He did some work for them a couple of years ago. But nowadays its all programmed.
Was one of the best shows I’ve been to. You never think a show will top your first time seeing Meshuggah - which is true, until you see Meshuggah again.
Melted my fucking brain last night in Bethlehem PA at Windcreek! Was on the rail yelling at my wife "This is what the inside of a fuckin' black hole sounds like!!!" She got the full effect. Thank you Meshuggah. My wife isn't a huge metal fan and she left this show instantly hooked on what you guys do for us. Thank you Meshuggah and crew for bringing the PAIN! Could chew on the danger in the air.
@@NooDLES411911 Well not many women get metal. My wife does tho, but no the extreme stuff I'm after, so I stopped to bother and act as a drone for the Within Temptation shows :D
I would kill for them to play one of the other chunks of Catch 33 besides the single one they play all the time Like the intro tracks or Personae thru the intro to Sum especially even moreso
Humiliative is such a beast of a song. It sounds so frikkin massive here. 53:30 and onwards is just a syncopated chugfest. Chaos and precision in perfect harmony.
I was there. You can hear me just to your left during the encore yelling “Meshuggah! Meshuggah!” Fucking amazing show! Thank you for capturing it all! Tomas Haake is the GOAT
This has got to be the best full set recording I've seen from the whole tour, definitely gonna be putting this one on rotation A LOT at home. Respect. P.S.: I'm quite jealous that they played future breed machine... they didn't play that one on the San Diego date of the tour.
This was hands down one of the best live performances I've ever seen on a video without a shadow of a doubt.. not to mention meshuggah just fn crushed my head in watching this.. so fn good man.. thank u so so much for posting this.. 🤘🤘
He still accompanies the band live but I believe that the entire lighting system is pre-programmed using MIDI with the band using in-year clicks to know the right time to enter each song. Still an impressive piece of work, tho
@@stevebanning902 - He used to do live around the Obzen days. Ayyway, his channel (Edvard Hansson) has some great light tests/production videos with a lot of Meshuggah stuff.
@@nolifebr Back then it was probably Fredrik Haake and not Edvard Hansson. If you watch the "Meshuggah in India" documentary, Fredrik Haake is credited as Lighting Director.
Thanks for the upload. I saw them last night in Bethlehem PA. The edibles hit just right and I was grooving too hard to record anything. Really happy to see Bleed live. I became a fan during the pandemic so last year I didn't hear them play it. Was sick to hear Humiliative and Perpetual Black Second too, two tracks I really like that don't get played a lot live
This was my first (and hopefully NOT last) Meshuggah concert. Absolutely breathtaking and mind-melting. Thanks for posting this so I can relive it \m/ \m/
Yeh i do❤😊💝🕉✝️☪️🌸🧚🏼♂️🧚♀️🤍 i knew you all are there to save me in every moments❤💝 form the begging the auto story end here . Drummer💝🧚♂️🤍🙂🌸🇮🇳💝, Rupam koka angel couples🤍💝🇮🇳.
Thanx for uploading and very great filmed! This concert is way beyond amazing, and the light show is by far the best I’ve seen. I well do remember the first time I saw Meshuggah live at a small club in Stockholm back in 1998. This is like from an own galaxy!
most exciting buildup and beginning of a show i think ive ever seen. whaaaat? I vaguely remember this band and no nothing about their actual music, but this concert beginning is the best ever!
love thordendal's playing so much. he never does cliche licks, his playing always fits the song, in some ways it can be minimalistic, like his first solo in bleed is just 2 notes. such an awesome player. wish i had learned from him when i started first playing guitar.
6 days after I saw them in MI. I wish they would film each show for the entire tour and sell it as part of a ticket package or something. It's cool to see other sets, but no two are alike and it would be awesome to actually be able to rewatch a show I went to with professional audio and camera equipment.
Glad I found this thanks to the algorithm. I was there up front right in front of Dick most of the night, was able to pick myself out in this video, thanks so much for posting it; so great to relive this epic show.
The best way to explain Meshhuggah live is imagine you're in a arena and a sound is so loud and thick but hits you like a robot with a woofle bat slapping you to a carribbean beat to different parts of your body. The bass shakes your entire being, you will be vibrating consistenly for days. Its like the air is sucked in and out of the room to polyrhythms
Great recording quality, sounds great. I like it when a live recording sounds like an actual concert. Jamming at my cube at work doesn't get any better.
my cat went into kitty trance from the opening with Cog ... his tounge was sticking out, eyes crossed and everything ...and now his tail is going to the snare... i turned the volume off, he went " eeeeeeerrrrr" and got up and left.
