Me too! There`s those who know and those who don`t! Lucky enough to have seen them twice so far. Heavy is an understatement, but beautiful and mesmerising at the same time.
Aww come on man, half those people are high as a kite and can't feel their legs. If you have the stones to even show up to a Meshuggah show you one of my clan.
Went to the Montclair show the other night and I intentionally didn't look at the setlist beforehand... I was standing maybe three or four metres away from Jens for most of the show. The excitement I had when they played Perpetual Black Second was immense. And then they dropped Humiliative later!??!? Literally the greatest concert I have ever been to.
Amen brother the Seattle show was epic too. The guy next to me didn’t know the set list either and I didn’t spoil the surprise especially adding Bleed back.:)
12:14…I love that little missed beat and recovery from Haake, which makes their usually utter flawless nature live even more mind boggling considering how complex their music is rhythmically. And to prove my point, they fucking owned Bleed this gig.
Humiliative was 🤯 not even officially released in the US I think..? Deeeeep cut lol thank you for making this vid I was too distracted to record anything. Was just out of frame bottom left. Brutal set.
This show was my first time seeing them and it was damn near a religious experience. I was all floaty from In Flames and then this massive wall of sound crashed into my body. Absolutely extraordinary. I'll never pass up an opportunity to see this band.
The more I listen to Meshuggah the more I love the ending of Born in Dissonance starting at 23:35. I think it is one of the greatest achievements in metal. Look at that crowd, they are fucking frozen in pure bliss, even the pit grinds to a halt. God Damn I love this band.
I saw them on dec 3rd. These lights were so bright it was like HDR even in the nose bleed seats. Incredible performance. They were perfect live really shows they have been touring for decades.
Whoa, Thanks for this!! I was about 15 feet from Frederick. Posted the half of his Bleed solo through the end just for my own personal memories, but hey...
Next time don’t slow gas because these opportunities to see legends like Meshuggah don’t come often. I’m going tomorrow in Montclair New Jersey, I can’t wait!
@@paulfederal1217 yeah, metal shows don't usually sell out in advance here so wasn't thinking about it (sometimes they do day of or right before but not usually weeks before). hopefully next time they play a larger venue - Meshuggah at The Armory would be amazing.
@@Lumbergo I just came back and was such an amazing performance. There is no other band can match their energy and the sound that they have. And you are right about the selling out of metal shows I didn’t think they would but didn’t want to chance it and when I showed up it was Sold Out ! Good for Messhugah!! One of the greatest metal bands to ever exist!
I remember in 2010ish when I saw them a Rod Stewart song was playing on repeat a few times before they came on stage. Did they do the same thing with the George Michael song?
Yeah it seems like they swapped out Electric Red for Future Breed Machine after a few shows on this tour. Curious why they did that, would have loved to have seen Electric Red live!
@@quarkspromenade By their standards, they are quite flexible in terms of the setlist on this tour. Maybe there will be a few more surprises. Either way: I can hardly wait!
@@reegyreegzBleed is the exception in my opinion, hasn't been played since 2019 and it's their most popular song. If anything I'd enjoy if they just played the entirety of catch 33 for a whole show with some extra songs.
First, THANK YOU for NOT posting STUPID VERTICAL VIDEO! No one knows how to PROPERLY record on the phone anymore!!! Vertical video sucks!!! That mic setup with all that AGC and compression, YUK! Sounds like a concert under water, thanks for the effort though, the memory still lives because of this! I was there too, great show!
Not a knock, but am I the only one hearing the bass drum in The Abysmal Eye being very sloppy? Sounds like the trigger gets triggered a few times when it shouldn't. If it's triggered. IDK.
@@Itsunclegabby hOw WoUlD yOu Be AbLe To WaTcH tHiS vIdEo? By being at this show already? What if 3 people had their phones filming instead of 150? We'd still have amateur footage of the show and I wouldn't have a bunch of screens blocking my view while on the floor. PS I didn't search for this, it came up on my feed.
I have mixed feelings about this. I do find it distracting/annoying when folks are holding their phones over their heads in front of me. I also agree that I'm not enjoying the show as much if I'm worried about a recording. I like being immersed in the experience, especially with a band like Meshuggah. At the same time, I don't have the greatest memory, so a couple photos and/or videos help me to remember the experience. In this case, as should have been obvious from the video due to the fact that the view never changed (yes there were jitters from the bass and auto focus issues due to the lights), the camera was mounted and required no interaction from me. I was first row balcony on the rail, and the camera was mounted low with the screen off where nobody could even see it, let alone be annoyed by it. I paid the camera no attention and fully enjoyed the show. I wanted to record this because there are few (if any?) center cut videos on the internet that capture the band and the light show uninterrupted. Sure, there are professionally produced videos like Bloodstock and Summer Breeze, but I feel like they don't capture the experience because they constantly change camera angles and add effects. The guys in Meshuggah aren't getting any younger, so since I had an opportunity to record it without bothering other folks and without interrupting my experience, I thought I should capture it. My hope was/is that it will give some joy to those that couldn't make it (the show was sold out) and inspire people to go see them if they haven't already.
@@arcadeshift5071For most other bands I'd agree with you, but Meshuggahs light show is too cool to not have the memory of it. I'll watch my recordings every now and then. Every other band I've seen I usually just take a picture or two.
