Look to Haake’s left (stage right). There’s a cameraman by the corner of his riser. Just behind him you can see Joey. I didn’t think it was him at first, but then after he takes a sip of water, he goes off and you see him play along with Haake and then switch to an invisible bass.
When I first heard their live guitar tone during the sound check at aftershock 2016 I thought, I’d never hear any guitar tone that sounds that good ever again. I was correct
I saw them on this soundwave and was actually disappointed as the volume from the pit was so low, I dont think they were running a backline and we were out of range of the PA.
@@JN-qj9gf I think between the time you saw them, and when I saw them they had switched to the new AxeFX amp modelers, which made their live tone a lot better. But I think now they are using real tube amps which is even better
@@SterlingSimmons22yup. They switched to axe fx live for the Koloss tour. Then switched to real amps for the tvsor tour. Then for immutable they are using the quad cortex live.
I dont think meshuggah is considered underground. Theyre well known. But they definitely arent on the mainstream pages the way slipknot or disturbed is. Meshuggah has influenced a lot of these bands and helped pave the path for some sub genres. I think they are really respected in the industry.
The only way to describe this live performance: total fucking pwnage. I love Mastodon and used to like Slipknot, it's good to see them paying respect to the greatest metal band of our time.
@@ilikenicebiscuits it's quite obvious, that the OP meant the more modern style of metal. it's like saying a lot of modern physicists are influenced by Einstein. Yeah he wasn't the first, many came before him. But in recent history the most important nonetheless.

I remember watching them live back in 2013. One of the tightest band I've seen live for sure. Rational gaze is ideal for Meshuggah's starter pack :P like if you have to introduce someone to Meshuggah this should be the track. Always opens up the pit and its not surprising given that the groove in this track is infectious

These guys sound so fucking tight live. The bass is just crushing from all the guitars and Tomas' syncopated kicks on the drums. Seeing them play Bleed live was something else
2:20 you can see Alex from Slipknot in the back.... that's just fucking nuts lol considering this was in 2012. And Corey's on the side of the stage too
I’ve seen them twice and I ran into Phil Sgrosso from As I Lay Dying at their Los Angeles show on October 9, 2022. Meshuggah is one of those bands that will always have guys from other bands be there.
You've pointed out that several famous people but yet have failed to see that it's M. Shawn Crahan moving around and filming alot of the performance. HINT: He's the one with a GoPro to his head.
