The Intuition liners works great in these skates. I heat molded that stock liners several times but it gave me a pressure point but once I switched them out they feel amazing.
Seems like the liner is definitely the first priority to change with these. Like you say I know a lot of people love the fluid Vs, but they're not for everyone. I'm finally getting my Mesmers tomorrow and even though you didn't have the best experience of all time I'm still so stoked to get my feet in them! 😅
The true mizou was awesome. Great skate pants. Yeah, the frame walls on those fluid 5's are absurdly thick. I spent some time doing T stops and cess slides to wear them down a bit.
I just got the FR intuitions a few weeks ago and they are fantastic liners, less supportive than the THEM or the V2 but it's way more roomy in the toe area and very comfortably padded around the ankles. I think the pinching around Achilles area might come from downward pressure on the U-cut, if you flex your leg backward, this liner is more prone to pinching and creasing inside the shell. I noticed that too, what really helped me fix all the pinching and movement inside the shell is : I used two sided cello tape to attach a piece of velcro to my shock absorber at the heel and I used the same tape to attach the shock absorber in the shell. Before that, the liner was lifting when I jumped or did a toe roll.
Thank you for the honest review. I'm hoping to see you try the Mesmer with an anti frame and setup. Breaking in a backslide groove from scratch wastes time and frames for me. I'm interested to see how the grooves work for you.
I’m really hoping with their next skates it will have a wider availability and I’ll be able to do boot only or shell only. I like the boot a lot but I took everything off that came with it.
Appreciate the review and your insights. I experienced the same issues with the liner and the frame too. I was really excited to try the MyFit liners but they are way too small/thick for my feet, even after heat molding twice, so I threw my intuition V2s in, and they feel way better. The skate is great and love how they slide, but wish it was good to go out of the box. Which flat frame would you recommend that’s not as tall as the fluid Vs?
I’m very much interested on this skate, very classic with a modern touch, I’m sure stock liners will break in, just needs a little bit of time, suggesting heat moulding a few times more for faster results, I’m hearing a lot of positive comments about fluid 5 frames, definitely would like to try out, I didn’t like thrones very much with old tumour plates but with new plates they look really awesome.
@@BacktoBlading Most important thing is how skates fit your feet, right? It is really hard to find perfect fitting skates. I see skating as some form of expressing your self, and if skates doesn't fit good it is hard to do it.
I ride a lot but à lot of 50/50 frame, so i know how you can be used to skate this frames!!! I can ride some other frame on different boot but there's always à reason. Sl boots : 1-50/50 balance 2- Fluid 4 3- Fluid5 (flat) 909 1-50/50 balance 2- OG 3-Them(flat) 5th element 1-FL3 2- OG 3-50/50 balance
Kizer fluid v is taller than FLT3 -- that's mainly because the Kizer Fluid V is a flat frame so it's a little taller to provide wheel bite protection. I think the FLT4 height is probably comparable to FluidV, but haven't skated them yet. Fluid V is not that tall (compared to OYSI for example) for a flat frame though. Seems Law might just want to stick to anti haha.
Really bummed the mesmers just don’t quite work right out of the box. I’d love to see another session with some better frames. I really wanna see you enjoy the mesmers!! That true mizou was awesome
that MyFit liner has no business being in that shell. I don't anyone with Mesmers skating it with the liners it came with. People with wide feet, flat feet, narrow feet, arched feet. My girlfriend barely fits into them and she's 4' 11" and petite. I've tried Intuition v2, Reign v3 & MyFit 2nd Skins & 2nd Skins have worked best for me. There's a reason USD retired that mold.
