Few points that i read in a book called "How to stop worrying and start living " which i found helpful for me 1. Focus on the present instead of worrying about the past or future. 2. Divide Big problems into smaller doable bits. 3.Take action to address the issue instead of worrying. 3.Focus on the positive instaed of negative in any situation. 4.Accept that there are some things beyond your control. 5.Be grateful for what you already have , practice gratitude.
Thanks a lot Drishti, I was a school topper since kg, I used to get a top rank in school every year, then in college and university also I get good percentage overall, after 12th I dreamt something different from my friends and classmates, everyone went for engineering and medical , but I wanted to be a geologist since then, but now I am frustrated like hell, and I couldn't tolerate my failures though I know competitve exam mei sab logo ko time lagte hai but my topper wala childhood self poking me everyday. It feels like someone stole my talent from me. Today this video makes me feel happy for myself. Hey Swarnali.... I also wanted to become A geologist.... I passed 12th in 2021 ... But due to lack of confidence and parents pressure for different path.. I dropped this idea... I took drop but due to health issues I didn't give any exam in 2022 And again took drop And came to kota But caught major health issues and due to which I couldn't study... Now My exams are just few days away and I cannot do anything.... Thinking of taking admission in biotech evs Or geology.... Can you tell me? How's geology course in terms of syllabus? Competitiveness etc??? If you then it will be of great help
It is a very interesting subject , job opportunity is less but if you get a good rank in gate, or csir net you can go for a phd. Or you can apply for psu through gate.

If we are studying and our mind wants to see shorts just control your hands If u r eating unhealthy from continuous 3 days then control your taste And even you can control your overeating habit Sometimes we want to listen song just on loop just control it There are many and definitely u will not be able to see it in 1 week or two But definitely after 2 months hare Krishna

But now I slowly getting better and preparing for competitive exams. But this overthinking and fake scenarios in mind mind is controlling me and restricting me from my study . We miss out many happy real moments just because of some sad imaginary thoughts or situation. All we need to overcome that overthinking thing is to start IGNORING useless thoughts and start ACTING "Your duty is to ACT" Keep it up Drishti! All the methods you mentioned seems so good, I'm surely gonna try some of them whenever I will stuck in any overthinking loop 😄
Firstly, it’s a perfect video for a over-thinker like me. Thanks to you for describing some simple techniques for overcoming or let’s just say to forget overthinking for sometime at least. Lots of attempts to try and progress in life are required especially in case of over-thinker. The technique 5,4,3,2,1 is quite good to come in presence. Because sometimes I feel very bad, for example someone types or asks me something and I’m not in zone and the person from other side is feels that I disrespect him/her. Actually you’ll find this strange but when I comment on any of your video I don’t overthink because I guess you read all kind of appropriate words and experiences and I don’t get confused. Thank you for making this video. It’ll help so many people to communicate to themselves or to tune with the life. Even it’ll help me to control my overthinking. Please if you ever upgrade yourself about with dealing overthinking, let us know.

I have been better able to deal with my overthinking pattern after your video! I inculcated fear due to fake scenarios and catastrophic thinking and wasted so much of my precious time due to that. My relationship with myself and others suffered. My memory took so much unnecessary load. And it was a major cause of my unhappiness all this while. Whenever I overthink I overthink of Extreme scenario like jab mujhe college exam ka tension aata hai toh mai sochta hu ki jayada se jyada kyahi hi bura ho jaega like mai fail ho jaega isse jyada toh kuch bura nhi ho sakta tha Then I think ki thik hai 15 din ke baad phirse exam de dunga It works for me
True, I replay d situation in mind & keep on thinking "ke yein bol diya hota toh..., ya nxt tym ye bol dungi...", but d same situation never arrives...
Idk about other things but writing down thoughts on paper really works for me and I'm gonna try that 5,4,3,2,1 rule if i can remember this when I'll be overthinking. And as you said that overthinking kabhi jati nhi toh mtlb puri life mai overthink kruga cheezo ko leke. But i feel kabhi kabhi overthinking helps you with deciding certain think correctly. Is there any single one like me who at any time listens to a song, i don't know what happens, mind (mann) just keeps repeating that song over and over again and again, and this particular problem plays kinda a major role in my sleeping issues especially at night... I was overthinking at night yesterday and yes I just let myself overthink because I knew those thoughts won't stay for long I had a walk outside and after like 15min I went to sleep.

You are not alone there many people like us who have overthinking problem. Recently i got a job but not able to do it properly as it requires problem solving attitude but for me whenever a problem comes i overthink about it what if this happens? what if that happens? and dwell on the situation. But i think we can overcome it as i think of it as a habit that we have possessed subconsciously. Just live in the present rather than in the past or future.
