I think he's earnt the title of now being the greatest soccer player in the history of the game. The MLS is lucky to have him and he's certainly enjoying his football there.

It is a strange phenomenon that never occurs among football fans who are known for their fanaticism, encouragement and support for their team, yet they wear the shirt of the opposing team player, and it is a phenomenon that deserves study. How beautiful and how proud of him self he should be.
Totally agree, as an Argentine, I am still shocked (and elated) to have witnessed the amount of people rooting for Argentina and Messi during the world cup, even "archrivals" Brazil had huge amount of people cheering for Argentina. Someone will have to study this :)

I live in Toronto, Canada, so I'm a Toronto FC fan. Tickets here were around $47 in normal times. Now with Messi in the MLS you cannot buy them. I see some going for $1,800 dollars. You will not get any tickets when Miami comes to play here.

@1:19 the guy said he bought tickets as soon as Messi was rumored to be coming but paid over $500. The night before Messi signed the tickets were at $100 so I’m not sure I believe that.

Dear Mr Lionel Messi, Hope you are doing great! I’m writing this letter to you about the Music Video “ Từ nơi tôi sinh ra” of the singer Jack - J97 in Vietnam that illegally put you in the video. On 31 August he opened a big press conference to promote this MV, inviting the media and renowned football players and musicians of Vietnam. During the press conference he claimed that he had met you in France and his team had asked for your permission to use the video of you and him to put in this MV with non-commercial purposes. Some tabloids had spread the news that Jack - J97 invested 60 billion VND (approx. 3 million USD) to invite you to cooperate in this MV. From Jack - J97’s side, he didn’t confirm or deny this information. In the press conference, he told everyone that it had cost much for the trip for him and his team to meet Messi, but he didn’t want to dwell on money matter because this will make the MV meaning blurred out. However, Mr Pham Ngoc Quoc Cuong - the one who brought Jack to France at that time has claimed for the opposite. Mr Cuong said that there was no permission at all from you to be in this MV. None of his friends had the courage to ask you. Mr Cuong had explained clearly to Jack - J97 that you wouldn’t take money for this kind of matter. It was a meeting for the love of football and not for any other purposes. With the unclear attitude from Jack - J97’s side since the press conference, Mr Cuong’s fame has also been badly affected. On 02 September, Mr Cuong posted on his Facebook page asking Jack - J97 to urgently make an announcement to correct all the wrong information about money matter. Jack-J97’s attorney then posted a letter to announce that there was no money as in commercial purposes involved in the incident. Still, your image is still in the MV and Jack - J97 is gaining fame and attention for this. Jack - J97 is a scandalous singer in Vietnam with very poor fame. There were also many other scandals of Jack - J97 of his ungrateful and betraying behavior, but the above was the biggest one. As a big fan of you with respect to your career and achievements, I’m writing this letter to seek for your concern on this incident. In my opinion, it would be inappropriate for your image to be used in this M/V. The reasons are: 1. It is for commercial: Though Jack - J97 claimed that it is not for commercial purposes, he is clearly gaining fame from this. He opened press conference, posted the MV on his official RU-vid channel, distributed the song on Spotify, Zing Mp3, Itunes and Facebook. 2. It is illegal: There was no permission from you to be in this MV. So surely it is illegally used. You didn’t agree to be filmed at that time for an MV. You didn’t know what the song was about. Now it is for commercial, it is illegal. What if he continuously using your image to do more? 3. Jack - J97 has poor fame: Jack - J97 has a very bad image of himself and has lost his fame in the heart of the audience. Therefore, your appearance in this video would damage your image. 4. Bad rumors: You had no intention to be in this music video and didn’t think of gaining anything from the meeting. But the tabloids (many suspected that they are paid by Jack - J97’s side) had spread the rumors of the fee to meet you. It is a very wrong information. 5. Jack - J97 is not a nice person: As a father of children, I know you love your kids wholeheartedly. As a father who never wants to admit that he has a daughter and never wants to provide her, do you think Jack - J97 is worthy to be a famous singer that all the young audience should be looking at? We really hope you and your team could all look into this matter, report to RU-vid for this M/V to be deleted and warn Jack - J97’s side to not use other people’s images illegally.
