Christian Reed, Moody’s wife was Moody’s high school sweetheart. Then Moody’s mom married his wife’s father. So technically, Moody and his wife are stepbrother and stepsister to each other.
I gained it all back along with some friends they brought along to stay for the unforeseen future. Thankfully, I began Noom this summer. I’m down 41.1 lbs today! I fed this time, this path will be a forever thing.
@@MoodyMolavi wish i could say 'just pray about it and he Lord Will help" But i prayed like 35 years to quit smokin- finally did, but now i have COPD- Some things God seems to answer quickly, others not so much- I don't blame Him- God isn't a Genie that grants us wishes whenever we want- We have to do our part- problem is, that I didn't truly want to quit- Well, i did, i just didn't want to go through the hell on earth that quitting would bring- Anyways- one thing that really helped me was to tell myself every hour, the first couple of days or so "OK I've beat this junk for 10 hours now, it was awful, the withdrawals, and I'm NOT going to ruin all that effort by having one cigarette to 'calm the nerves'- I'm gonna just keep going"- i had to really concentrate on that- and keep telling myself "OK, It's been 26 hours now- Not gonna throw all that effort away- gonna keep going even though it's tough"- then before i knew it i was into my third day- the worst- and kept going back to how many hours i was VICTORIOUS- and vowed not to fail=- knowing that if i did- the next time i tried quitting I would have to start from hour 1 All over again- and start the hours of hell all over again- it was enough motivation to keep me from fallin back into smoki9n- this tiem anyways- been 8 years now smoke free- So So easy though to just give up and fall back into it- but even if we do- there is comfort in knowing most people try several times before they are finally really successful (They say it gets easier after a couple of tries- maybe it does, i dunno- i just know it wasn't pleasant)- Anyway- good luck to ya- it's tough- Here's Hoping it strengthens your walk with God through the struggles-
Nazareth434 thank you! I appreciate you sharing your story as well. Congrats on the 8 yrs! So much truth to your experience that others can benefit from knowing how you fought for your success!
My stepdad had that same thing happen. His mom and his wife's dad were both single due to the death of their spouse when he married his first wife. They ended up falling in love and getting married, so even after his divorce his ex was still at every family gathering due to now also being his stepsister. Fortunately they had just gotten married too young and realized and mutually agreed later to end things on good terms due to wanting different things. She was actually a very nice person and got along fine with both him and my mother, but it was still a bit of an odd situation. When he was dating mom and things got serious enough to get to the meeting the family stage, it included sitting down to a family dinner with his ex-wife LOL
I think your bit on DRYBAR is a master class on standup. News to you, eh? I love your intelligence, your physicality. I love how you self-depricate without sacrificing your worth. So, SO well done, sir. I tell my friends and patients about you, spreading "The Good News."
I just found your show today…I might have a new Dry Bar favorite! Funny in so many ways. 😂 You reminded me of an old friend and coworker (who has passed on) because he was Southern Baptist and his wife has disabilities including vision and hearing loss-my friend and his wife also had an “unusual” sense of humor about her differences in abilities, and some of that humor got him in trouble at work! I have no idea what it’s like to live with such differences but I appreciate they used humor to cope. Also some jokes here remind me of my husband who is an immigrant and constantly gets mistaken as Hispanic. Most of the time people are well-meaning and he expresses his annoyance to me after they leave. Thanks for a great show, I’ll be looking for more!
But we don't want him to have a heart attack or stroke! The easiest way for a male to have a heart attack is a lot of stomach weight. So bad for the health. Often gaining a lot of weight is an emotional fix. Praying he can be free of whatever pain has been in his life, and he sticks with his new way of eating..
Probably my favorite comedian so far on these specials, he's got real original and personal jokes and overall just really great energy! We want more Moody!
Clearly this man has a brilliant observation and is sieving through the issues of life that we all face with a great spirit, perspective & humour of those moments. Wish lots of good health n happiness for him n all of us.
@@RobustNut I can tell you which ones shes not living in for sure. 🤣 only really one country she can pick that let's women drive, let alone go on RU-vid.
😂😂😂😂 that's laughably false. Saudi Arabia is one of the most progressive of middle eastern countries, and they just officially granted women the right to drive in 2018. If the stories are to be believed, unofficially, you'll still get harassed if you try to drive as a woman a full 2 years later. Okay so maybe theyve been able to drive in other countries for a decade or 2. Still not a very long time. Are women allowed to leave their house without an escort? Not under sharia law In most places Pretending like women have rights in the middle east is a joke in and of itself. You can worship whatever you want, they're all false anyways, but quit acting like Islam isnt the most repressive and backwards one out of all of them. It's almost as bad as scientology.
The Doctors weighed me on the ‘cargo scales’ downstairs, in the basement, of the Hospital, where they weigh the big bags of Laundry. Humiliating. This guy, Moody, is hilarious.
There's a famous song from 1947 called "I'm My Own Grandpa," in which a man ends up as stepfather to his own stepmother as a result of a series of improbable marriages, all of which are perfectly legal. On another note, My mother and father were related before they met, because her grandfather and his grandfather were brothers. They had to consult with a rabbi to see if they could legally marry. He gave his consent.
We talk of racism a lot right now, but really those of Middle Eastern descent are having a really rough time, especially if they are Muslim. He is well-adjusted and really funny! I really respect that since I am sure things have been hard for him.
@@leechion2933 I had Covid Pneumonia and am a long hauler, so I've gained weight from the steroids and from being in bed for 3 months. Just started a new treatment, and will try again. Still not giving up! :)
Dude, it means nothing. I went to Anglican Seminary school with real Muslims, these guys went to church with us, got holy communion with us, read bibles and hymns with us. We went to their mosque during Ramadan to eat
My father is a Respiratory Therapist and Sleep Technician...In other words, he's the man you see to _get_ a CPAP! He also wears one himself so I've heard that "I am your father" joke so many times 😂 Can't wait to show him this comedy, his reaction is guaranteed to be hilarious at this point 🤣
I don’t know if the comedian gets to see these comments, so I’m going to look him up elsewhere just for the chance to say how much I enjoyed his range of funny. Thank you Dry Bar foe scouting talent that I can enjoy and recommend.
My neighbor is Iranian from before the Iotolah’s (misspelled, but I do not really care to properly spell murderous dictator’s names) took over. The stories his family, who among many others, have been able to escape. They were once a much more free people before religious leftism took hold.
Completely Loved it, laughed so hard I almost butterfly my pants too! His reactions are so funny yet relatable and he's surely got a lot of comedy spirit going on. I hope he can get a part in a sitcom soon, it'd be hilarious. 100% What I expect from a comedian AND DryBar.
