You would think that they didn't have a theme this year, I saw everything from futuristic, Hollywood glam, metallic fever, homecoming queen, black and white ball, haute-mess couture to plain old Oscar gowns. Was Blake the only one that got the memo?
I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. Don't these people have mirrors? Really, can't they see how preposterous these get-ups are? Some of the "stylists" for these people should be fired.
But compared Nicki looked more put together and glam. Also in point with the gilded gilded beauty.💛🪂😍....Kylie looked like a drunk vegas bride coming from her bachelorette party 🤭
Next time Anna should just send away people who don't comply with the theme cause whats the point of having a theme if everyone is just going to go off script. Damn. Thank god for Blake, literally one of the only people that understood the assignment. I don't know what happened this year? 🤦♂️
I think the theme was blah. Way more fun if they embodied the flapper age or ?? something upbeat. The New York City gilded age is fraught with racism and those who have versus those who don't. Didn't someone have a NYC skyline skirt or cape. That's cool. Found it - Alicia Keyes had the NYC skyline cape.
Most of those dresses were terrible. The men out dressed the women this year. The whole Kardashian family looked like a hot mess. They dress better then that on average day. SMH

I am not a Kardashian fan......I find them all really boring but for Kym to get a hold of the original "happy birthday Mr. President" marilyn monroe dress and wear it is pretty amazing.......Who cares about getting an autograpgh from Kym coz I want an autograph from the dress itself.
I’m sad this has been the worst Met Gala that I’ve viewed. I don’t blame the celebrities. I blame the designers for wasting fabric and playing in our faces with god awfulness. 🤬🤬
Marilyn was a goddess and her beautiful delicate "nude" dress was so perfectly designed for her body and skintone. That silly reality show woman should never been allowed to get near it, let alone wear it.

@@karendavidson7538 Marylin's dress did not suit Kim Kardashian and she should not have even tried to compete with her, not to mention that this was hardly a style worn in the "Gilded Age"....where it was pouter pigeon chests and exaggerated rear ends with tiny waists in between. Most of those attending the Gala got it wrong and that includes both men and women.

The lines of that dress on her sleek figure, with a jeweled hood around that face…I can’t . It is pure Met Gala…. I was also pleasantly surprised to see Anna in something rather soft & ultra feminine! She’s usually so structured. Love this night!

It’s amazing that they actually had real stylists and the women especially looked so horrible. How can you go to a “themed” event and miss the mark so badly? They don’t realize that looking like you were just chewed up and spit out by an insect isn’t fashion. It’s just gross.

1. It’s not a costume party. It’s a fashion event. 2. There’s a theme and it’s gilded age. Who’s got the invitation and read it? 3. Most are fashion disaster. Money can’t buy style.
Most did not understand the assignment. Vintage Christian Louboutin (1995-ish) or Galliano would have been wonderful. Not a one🤷♀️. Some of the men’s tuxes were on point (looking at you Hugh and Ryan) Also the modern take on an especially meaningful military uniform *chef’s kiss Ashton Sanders.
Sad Situations I got more compliments going to the Opera than anything here I liked Blake's but I like her anyway. Makes me wonder now if they ever got the assignment on the other Gala's 🤔🧐🤨😳😔😲🙃😂
Didn't anybody bother to see what the theme was? I mean, it was on everyone's tv screen just recently...all those gorgeous outfits from New York's gilded age.
I was always advised not to wear clothes that looked like coffin lining, that looked filled with helium, or had a pattern like hotel carpeting. Well, that advice is for naught, most of the clothing items failed any comparison to lovely, beautiful, enchanting, exciting, often seemed gathered from fabric store remnants, old sheeting, and rummaging through bins. The point? I seemed to have lost it.
The MET Gala has never been about following norms. Everything is over the top. It allows the rich, famous and infamous to celebrate themselves. People shouldn't get upset when other's vision doesn't fit their idea of what's right. The history of clothing has one thing in common, people wore what they could afford and felt they looked good in.
WTF was with the jeans and red rubber gloves? And with the men wearing hip enhancers like the 1500's? I think there were more bad fashion looks than good ones, but Ryan and Blake look wonderful and classy, as always. Thank goodness.
This one is probably representing the blue collar class at the gilded age. As the rich got richer the working class got more and more miserable and exploited. That’s History.

What in the Leon André Talley was this? The designers need to go back to the drawing boards. Some colors were horrible together for dresses, materials, and styles clashed. Some dresses looked like ostrich aliens. Just terrible. The theme is to be outrageously fashionable and over the top. These dresses should have been out of sight and overwhelmingly unfashionable. do not know many of these people, must be newbies, rather plain this year , enjoyed the Vanity Fair Oscar party more, 3 hours of it on youtube the most beautiful women in California and do not know any of them but enjoyed show
