Using standalone to play PCVR would be absolutely incredibly cool and useful!

Nice to hear about Oculus Avalanche again. But the fact, that Meta didn't mention it on Meta Connect, could mean it is still far away from release. The store listing is there probably for the big game studios to test their titles on it.
I've been waiting for this moment. Cloud Gaming is the only technology that can expedite us to "Ready Player One" style VR at an "affordable" price for the masses. Not everyone is computer savvy, so I'll now be able to play more graphically intense games with friends that don't know much about PC's.
@@gebibaboy5212yeah it is dystopian but the core value of the movie is within the VR tech they have. The Oasis can be amazing, it doesn't have to be dystopian... Dystopia is really just the macguffin to get the story rolling
@txbased1752 I caved and built a gaming pc strictly for vr. Best thing I ever did. I'm playing half life alex, Subnautica, Skyrim and Alien isolation all in vr! The graphics are amazing! I can never go back to games on the quest store. They all suck so bad compared to pc vr
Like they said in the connect, having the glasses read off stuff like posters or products that wouldn't have braille seems like an amazing advancement for blind people.
probably not anytime soon for you unfortunately, because with cloud gaming you need to have a server in or very close to your city for the best experience
Yeah cloud gaming pcvr will be the future. If the headset cant run it then run it else where. Eventually we can have thin headsets with better lenses and just run it via the cloud ☁️
I wonder how Cloud PCVR gaming would affecting streaming towards live platforms such as Twitch, Tiktok, and RU-vid. Would it be possible to live stream the game on a standalone. Does Meta already have a method where you can live stream games that are not on PCVR without having to cast it to a monitor to be captured on an OBS or streamlabs?
Sad to hear about Laser Dance being delayed! I applied to test the game but hadn't heard, but hope they get those issues resolved! Hyped that people on their phone can join me on their iPhones!

As some1 who has used ShadowPC to play Cyberpunk2077 on an OG Quest1...i feel like cloud computing has already been here...just now we have official Meta support...iits like Meta is finally listening...
@@Steven4Strings basically you got a virtual pc. a lot of services host it but you need extremely good internet for it to be worth it in the slightest.
Because the PCVR version of Beat Saber have more features than Standalone like you mods coming faster on newest update which means you can purchase the latest music pack play with mods and other stuff
there is no depth sensor in Q3, it has IR illuminator... Q3S has two IR illuminators, they must be quite equal or otherwise the passthrough could not be depth corrected
am glad to see cloud gaming But I literally just finished upgrading my PC from an Rx6800 to a RTX 4080 Super. So my PCVR is about to go crazy. All my games are.I am gonna try it when i get back from Tesco lol.
I already invest in a very good internet plan and connection can still be garbage at times. I prefer having my own in house machine running it. Plus I use my PC for more than just gaming.
for folks like you and I its a nice to have. perhaps being on the road and have the ability to do so. all depending on how good the connection is, cant comment until ive tried it really. but plutosphere was impressive! i played beatsaber on expert with it
You realize of course that the glasses in Meta Raybans is redundant. You need camera's and speakers, but you don't actually need the glasses themselves. Which means it could be made into a head band and then you wouldn't have to put glasses in front of your eyes.
Hoping this becomes a return to Rift packaging where you get both versions included in one price as well as cloud streaming of your existing rift library. Meta is losing customers to Steam VR for the better versions of games.
You have to be friends with the person first and then youll be good. Dont use these youtuber links (they didnt work for me and i just bought one last week). Lmk if you need a friend/code and i give can give you mine :)
@@SteveKnows Based on my experiance last week, it did not work and they said they didnt process me using a link at all. Metas customer support worked really well though so Im okay
In my area the additional cost to get one year of the higher speed internet necessary for using cloud gaming is about the same as a decent gaming PC. Why should I get excited about it? Since I keep the same PC for multiple years, getting a PC is always going to be a cheaper solution. The fees associated with cloud services just layer on top and make the imbalance greater.
I'm so glad and sad about the meta glasses. I sold mine for a song because it didn't have AI, now I find out that AI is coming...grr 'to the internet!" good day!
really bro on way! yh i was like wow these are cool but the features that will take them to a new level are not available. but now they are wahoo!! partially anyway. GOOOOD DAY!
thats if metas system gives us access to the PC to apply such a thing, i suspect it will work like an app and loads the game like it does now. keeping it simple as possible for the masses
Game streaming -- Cloud Gaming -- will never work for VR. It is a no good, very bad, horrible, worthless idea that has been tried several times for non-VR platforms and failed in a dumpster fire of shame each time. Do not pin your reputation or hopes on this idea.
