In this week's news, Meta Quest receives v66, Meta & LG Electronics deal is in trouble, and Asgard's Wrath 2 is slated to get its high-resolution texture pack next week.
Update v66 also got datamined and it reveals features that could be coming to Meta Quest next: Meta AI Assistant, Sensor Lock Privacy Feature, Calendar Sync, Content Adaptive Brightness, Codec Avatars, Customs Virtual Keyboard Sizing and Positioning, Improved Do Not Disturb, and Improvements to Bluetooth.

Missed this part in the video, but confirmed via Reddit by Oculus-Mdoran (Executive producer at Oculus Studios) Asgard's Wrath 2 High Resolution Texture pack to come to Quest 3 next Tuesday on the 28th of May. Included will be a little surprise in the update as well. Hmmmm S W E E T B A B Y R A Y ' S B A R B E C U E BTW Rewatching the video I didn't make this clearer, but the only v66 confirmed features are the wrist button and organizing app permission better to categories. The rest of the features were datamined alluding to features that COULD eventually come.

Simple. Algorithm favours bigger VR channels and mainly more frequent uploaders (this guy only does 2-3 vids per month). It also isnt 2005 when good quality production was impressive. Anyone can seem professional these days, standards increased….

This is most likely a bug for me, but a very good one at that. Sideloading YT's APK and revanced on Quest 3 is really worth it. There was also rumors near the launch of Quest Pro as that being the reasoning to why Meta gave it 12GB of RAM instead of the usual 8. I doubt Meta brings this as a feature to Quest 3 since battery/memory management issues still persist, but they could put it in the experimental tab.

LG with Amazon? Always good to have competition to keep pricing competitive (ex. Steam and Epic Store). But I hope all other VR hardware companies don't try making their own platforms (or else we get Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ Peacock, Hulu, HBO Go, etc). Just make it 2 or 3 tops.

Wholeheartedly, agree. More competition is always great to consumers, let alone idea of it since even with just the release of Vision Pro a device that costs upwards of $3500 Meta has picked up their pace. However, like you mention two or three is usually enough and then you have the others.

Quest 3 getting review bombed is just salty people who can’t afford the latest and greatest life style which is understandable but not justified to hate a product. The performance upgrade, MR, and new lenses is way worth the upgrade…

Why don’t you run your game through quest optimiser where you can get to pick at what resolution you want your games to run. It CRAZY the amount of detail it gives to the game and its a MUST for every quest owner

they are probably using backlight strobing to fix the motion blur which has its own problems like it reduces the brightness of the monitors..

Almost cecrtainly Google"s OS is much better than META's mess; their horrendous UI and the lack of eye tracking are brutally limiting factors and actual people in the industry can see that. They open-sourced their OS preemptly bc of Google, but it won't work. People will ALWAYS pay good dollar for a sleek OS rather something that looks like a demo from 1999. In desktops, open-source OS is not even 2% of overall usage. META HAS TO copy apple and improve their UI, or else, they'll get obliterated.

I think one of them, whether it's Meta or Google will eventually have to budge. The largest detriment to Google is its corporate structure in being able to sustain and support the project after launch. Keeping in mind Google and Samsung were caught off guard by Apple with how impressive Vision Pro was.

But my battery runs down even when plugged in which means there's only so long I can play or watch a movie etc. Is this fricking normal? seems a bit odd to me but it's all over the internet people with the same problem. I haven't even bothered trying tpo play Elite dangerous VR co's I will play that game for hours and hours and if I need to charge the headset every 2 hours which takes god knows how many hours to9 recharge lol. What is the point. I like the thing but they should have made it stay charged when plugged in. It does till you start using it then anything you do it will lose percentage. I would send it back and get a new one but everyone gets the same issue anywazy by the looks of it.

You need a better charger and or USB cable. I bought a anker charger and I can play pcvr games and watch movies without the battery running down.

5:00 These? Kiwi Design Upgraded Controller grips. I'd say they are good. The only issue you could have with them is that metal bit. If you like the straps to be tight, it can dig into skin, which is uncomfortable. I use somewhat similar handstraps, but from AMVR, that are door replacers without silicon shell for beatsaber. If I wasn't comfortable wearing them loosely, I wouldn't have used them because of that metal bit. It can get painful.

Really? Was it all jittery or did it not work as intended? Meta has been alluding to and working on the travel mode feature for almost about a year leading up to the launch of Vision Pro.
