We go over how to rebuild a Metabo HPT or Hitachi NV 45AB2 roofing nail gun.
This nail gun will many times leak air, wont sink nails, will skip nails, wont fire or wont feed when they need rebuilt.
These are one of the more complicated roofing nailers out there to rebuild because the entire cylinder moves when they fire. Most other nail guns use a stationary cylinder.
Make sure to follow the process closely, wear eye protection when shooting and make sure the end is pointed away from people and property when plugging in air for the first time after rebuild. Never load a fresh rebuild with nails until tested.
We use Reliability Provin KT-HA-104 to rebuild this. You can also use KT-HA-910 rebuild kit if you need the trigger plastic or additional bumper for the feeder. Most times this is unnecessary.
If you need the feeder spring the part number is 877761 (877-761) ( amzn.to/3Rcpud9 )
If you need the feeder pawl the part number is 883901 (883-901) ( amzn.to/3TfNRco )
These are the same as the Metabo HPT and Hitachi NV45AB2 also. The nailers are also basically the same as the NV45AB nailers and they made a similar NV45AE model for a while also.
You can buy a new replacement nailer at amzn.to/482utVb

They are definitely not the easiest to rebuild but pretty simple if you know what's going on. Glad it is helping someone! Thanks for watching!

Could you possibly give me some advice? I have a Metabo NV45AB2 nailer that is firing without the nose being depressed. What would cause it? What do I need to do to fix it?
@IndRepair

I would check out the trigger parts and the head parts. One or both these areas has bad o-rings/rubber/plastic parts

This video helped me abit but ultimately i failed with my nv65ah2 coil nailer. It was blowing air out exhaust but still fired nails, after reassembly it doesnt leak but wint fire, no air out exhaust just a pop out the trigger when pulled. If you come across that coil nailer itd be great if you made a video for that one. Ive got a $400 paper weight untill i figure it out
@IndRepair

I would make sure the head and piston/cylinder are moving freely. Did you rebuild the trigger in that one or no? Could be a trigger problem on that gun with those symptoms also

@@IndRepair i think i chowdered the exhaust valve to be honest it sticks down instead of springing in and out, gave up and droped it off at repair shop. Its my own fault for trying to remove exhaust with pliers...but thanks for the input video was great btw

I did everything that you did in this video replaced all the o rings and gaskets and when I plug in the air hose, air just starts coming out from the exhaust. any idea what’s going on?
@IndRepair
@IndRepair 4 месяца назад
Many times it must be reset before using after a rebuild. Open door, push safety in and fire to reset. If that does not work you likely have a missing or pinched oring

Glad to help, let me know if it does not work. An OEM kit was used or an aftermarket? Many times the aftermarket kits are junk. The o-ring store has these kits available online for a great price

@@kevinduarte8617 your cylinder is stuck down. get a rubber mallet and hit the top of the head under the cylinder springs back up and seals against the head valve.

After watching this I’ve decided to just buy a new one. You may know what you are doing but the results of the tear down ended up a jumbled pile of parts that had no organization or logic of reassembly. Thanks anyway.

I replaced the gaskets when I replaced the o-rings. It works great but there's a steady leak from the gaskets. Both on the back and at the nose. What can I use to deal those gaskets?
@IndRepair
@IndRepair 4 месяца назад
Fast or slow leak? If fast likely oring pinched or needs reset. If you open the door, remove nails and push the tip in like you are going to shoot before hooking up the air the nailer will reset itself. Wear safety glasses.
