I'm so addicted to these videos. They've completely changed the way I look at the high fat/low carb, good diet/bad diet, train hard/train smart. I learn something more everytime I watch another one. Addicted. Also, I come here for the freeze frames

A great gift on my birthday _ this video is! Thanks Andy My favorite part as a High High Protein proponent was Andy stating excess protein will most likely be excreted! @ 2:44
@transformxruby

why was that your fave haha
@hm1rza
@hm1rza 5 лет назад
@@transformxruby Because people go on and on about excess protein turning to fat after gluconeogenesis and magically giving them excess glucose that in turn must then be stored as fat. Coming from Andy that it is excreted is reassuring. I see so many self-proclaimed Gurus give vague answers because I think they are not sure themselves.

Care to explain why you're confusing Glycogenolysis ( cleaving CHO from Glycogen). As opposed to Glycolysis breakdown of glucose to Pyruvate?

I'm not the keto zealot, but could you offer an explanation how did I get wast improvement in strength and endurance (especially vo2 max) results when I've eliminated carbs along side with the same results with some of my atheltes? I'm a kinesiologist from Croatia and I've been thought the same thing in school, but it seems that in my gym there are some people that do MUCH better on meat or keto diets in regards to sports training and results. And it baffles me. Especially because one is soccer player, other soccer goalkeeper, third rower and fourth powerlifter. Its interesting because in one example one athlete initially did 500m row in 1:41 and afters switching to meat diet did 1:19 in a span of 6 weeks. When I've seen that some people do very well I've decided to try it out and had similar results.

would do better with carbs. the literature showing how carbohydrates improve performance is overwhelming.
@dan1mal678
@dan1mal678 3 года назад
@@backfru The 500m row is likely to short to show a difference especially for a competitive rower as mentioned above, you are correct in your point with so the results pointing towards carbohydrates improving endurance.

I think a huge factor in this is what quality of nutrition did they have before switching to kero or carnivore. Especially if they’ve been on a diet consisting of mostly high processed carbs, omega 6 fats, and minimal protein. Switching from the that to keto/carnivore will give massive improvements to anyone.

i thought that fatty acids couldn´t be converted to glucose, do you have any evidence to suport that claim?

Yep, the definition of Glycolysis is wrong too. Not good.

but carbs produce more ROS ... inflammation, so
@MitchellBourisk
@MitchellBourisk 4 года назад
What if you eat your carbs from sources that have anti-inflammatory compounds? Sweet potatoes, quinoa, and legumes for example. Also adding herbs to those foods can decrease overall inflammation. Carbs are an important part of a balanced and healthy diet, but only if you get them from the right sources. Skip the white bread, white pasta, white rice, sugar, etc. Complex carbs are the way to go!
