The Hot Rockin video was cheesy like the heading out to the highway vid but that's what made them killer! If someone asked me what my favorite Judas priest song was I would just have to say "yes"
I remeber coming up with a riff thinking how fucking cool and original it was... it was Electric Eye note to note and I was devastated when I heard it. Then I was headbangin' so hard I forgot about it.
I drove 50 miles with a friend in a blizzard to see them. We got in the concert for free because there was a blizzard. It was an awesome show. They sounded great!
The entire Defenders Of The Faith album completely blew me away the first time I heard it. I've truly never heard an album like that since and it still gets the same reaction every time I hear it now. Freewheel Burning just pummels you right out the gates and the energy doesn't let up the whole way through the album and by the time the title track comes stomping through, it's such an anthemic sound and leaves your ears ringing for hours.
Amazing choices, i have pretty much the same list! 🤘 Saw them last june in Zurich, Switzerland it was beyond awesome. Richie Faulkner played three songs with a pick and after Painkiller he threw it in the crowd and i was able to catch it, that was awesome! Also i saw Phil Campbell (Guitarist from Motörhead) with his new project in octobre in a very small venue, which i don‘t understand to this day why such a legend was playing in a verd very small venue, but it made the concert even more personal so i had no problem with it. I was in the first row and Phil gave me a pick right in the hand. I am very emotional when it comes to that, i almost had an heart attack after touching Phils hand 😂. That was awesome
As always, killer playing! Excellent band, takes me back to a special time and alot of memories! We came up at the same time (I graduated '89) so your videos bring back so much. Its true, music is like a time machine in a weird way! Thank you.
BADASS as always sir! I love your tone and musicianship and DEFINITELY love of all things hard rock and heavy metal! KISS has always been my #1 favorite band too and Judas Priest is right up there with them as well!
I've listened to Judas Priest albums from Sad Wings of Destiny to Painkiller and man, I can't get enough of those riffs. Rob Halford is one great vocalist
Your guitar sounds god-like, here i have my picks for volume two: -Battle Hymn/One Shot at Glory -Nostradamus -Hellrider -Leather Rebel -Spectre -Rising from the ruins -Lightning strike
When I was fourteen I was big into running track and thought people that listened to stuff like Priest were strange. I think I got into metal when I was maybe in my early twenties. I remember all the metal heads in my high school played hacky sack during lunch time and I don't remember a whole lot of jocks were into metal. Damn I'm glad we have guys like you to keep it alive
Omg!..same thing! A Freind played a cassette of screaming for vengeance and I was blown away! I then went on to hear unleashed in the east! And years later I’m playing “heading out to the highway”!!! Rock on!!
The Hellion and Eletric Eye is epic!! And one of my favorite judas song u did not put in your list: The Desert Plains. Undestandable: Judas is great and have a lot o great songs. Keep rocking! Cheers from Brasil!
Metal Dad, I am happily subscribed to your channel. My two favorite bands: KISS and Judas Priest. What’s so cool is that I met the legendary Rob Halford shopping at RALPHS’ in San Diego! He’s so down to earth and a total class act! I will never forget it! 😎🔥🥇 🥊🥊🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💖✝️
Metal Dad keep up the great work! Love the pics of Judas Priest. One of the best bands ever and still rocking though without Glenn and KK. Just saw them last month in Boston.
Cool list, some of my all-time faves for sure (Solar Angels is awesome!). Exciter and Tyrant are two that definitely are worth consideration as well, killer riffs!
HEY! I JUST FOUND THIS VIDEO AND YOU, FOR THE FIRST TIME.. I LIKE THE GUITAR SOUNDS OF JUDAS PRIEST, SO I CAME TO CHECK IT OUT.. YOU DID A GREAT JOB! THE SOUND OF YOUR GUITAR WAS GREAT. IM SURE IT WAS SOME PROCESSOR THAT GAVE YOU THE SOUND, BUT IT WAS GREAT ANYWAY! I WANTED TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO GET BACK INTO SHAPE AND START MAKING YOUR OWN GUITAR MUSIC AGAIN ( IF YOU USED TO? AND IF YOU NEVER HAVE MADE YOUR OWN MUSIC? THEN YOU NEED TO! ) YOU ARE STILL "YOUNG" ENOUGH TO GET HEALTHY, FIT, STRONG, AND HAVE 20yrs TAKEN OFF YOUR PHYSICAL APPEARANCE AND PHYSICAL FUNCTIONALITY, AND STILL KICK SOME MUSICAL AND GUITAR PLAYING ASS! AND YOU SHOULD! ITS YOU! DONT WASTE ANY MORE TIME! DO IT! FOR YOU AND ALL THE FANS OUT HERE WAITING TO SEE AND HEAR YOU PLAY! : )
I remember being in a second hand store and asking my Mom what that big plastic rectangle was... an 8 track. Hearing you tell people to Google a cassette brings it all full circle!!
Yes, I remember the compact cassette and still have a few from 30 or so years ago. The compact cassette came after the 8 track and before that was reel to reel and before that was nothing but vinyl.
Priest is one of the greatest rock bands in the history of the world!!! Glenn is in my top 5 guitar players of all time!! I fucking love the electric eye that is such a cool riff and bloodstone which is hard to play btw you did a great job in that!!! How about On The Run for part 2 👍😎🤘🎸
Metal Dad! I’ve watched you for awhile, we ma y have some things in common. You liked KISS at an early age,Judas Priest is one of my top5 favorites. I have the same blue Epiphone Les Paul, I’ve got EMG’s though. I’m 55 years old and love Screaming for Vengeance. I may still have my hair but you have the chops, happy thanksgiving buddy!
