We DIG History I totally admire and respect you for seeking out the owner of the ring, that would give me more pleasure than finding it. Great job and thanks for sharing your story, restoring faith in humanity one RING at a time!!!
LMAO at the gold coin flower tag by the ring! That's like in February I found my gold coin then a hunt shortly after I found a suspenders clip that said "gold coin" on it. LOL. And that's too funny that you found that merc at Ray's house. I remember that your cache was from 1967, that's a crazy coincidence. Last week I found 31 wrapped pennies, none dating newer than UNC 1993 coins (preserved enough to see the luster on the new ones). Ends up most people think it was a pair of homemade brass knuckles that were lost during a fight (would have been 21 years ago). Thought that was pretty cool if you didn't see the video I uploaded. That skeleton key is in incredible condition! I hope to be hunting more soon after a little break I've taken, things have slowed down for me this year after an awesome spring. I hope to find much more goodies this fall! LOVE the indian collection, hard to believe with all the ones you've dug the 1895 took so long, glad you knocked those out. Would be awesome to see you complete the set! I nearly have a complete set of dug rosies and war nickels.
yeah, that was crazy! I did see that video you made, didn't have time to comment, that's a cool find! cool that it could have been brass knuckles... how interesting. Thanks on the indian collection, thought you would like that, I would love love love to complete the set! I'm wondering if it will take a lifetime to do it or not. I want those 1908 and 09 mintmark ones! Someday. Hope this year picks up for you in the fall, I think it will. HH bud
I'll always remember the Cashe. Congrat's on the Beautiful Class Ring and the opportunity that you have to return it. Make sure you get it on video. I have that on my wish list as well Shane. Congrat's on stealing that Merc out of Ray's yard..It just wasn't a RAY/DAY was it. Good video. Every time I see a video from you, or Frank, I just know, there's an outstanding find on it. Did you have that 1877 Indian appraised? I graduated in 1966 but I could not afford to buy a ring (I would have lost it anyhow) I was poor.
Yeah, hopefully he will let me film it, that would be awesome. And yes, I did feel like I was stealing the merc lol. I too could not afford a class ring and with my track record of losing things, no doubt it would have made some metal detectorists day some day lol. Thanks again Keith and HH
Thanks for returning the ring. I am sure they missed it and gave up hope of ever seeing it again. Detectorists like you and your buddies make all of us look good and the hobby look even better! Keep swinging and digging!
Very nice class ring. I lucked out my first year in the hobby and found & returned a 2002 class ring in august 2016. Video posted. I like and subscribed to you. Keep up the good work and great videos. GL&HH
1967 is my birth year. Cool beans. Great bunch of hunts. I bet Ray was kinda jerked that you pulled out that Merc even if he didn't show it. No better feeling in the hobby than the one you get from returning something like that. Be well, Al-Fu
Oh, cool! Yeah, I can imagine if the role was reversed lol.. he must have been shocked to see it. But Ray is a great guy and does not get jealous one bit.. he is a different breed of person, if you knew him, you would know what I mean. That is why I love hunting with him. Thank a bunch man, and HH
The piece of jewelry you are holding at 00:56 written in Russian last name and year " Магков 94г RUS - Magkov 94 ENG". It would be the gift signed and presented to the loved one in 94. Not sure if 1894-or 1994. Hope this helps, best regards.
Another video worth it's weight in GOLD hahaa. You never fail to amaze me. I know the look on the mans face when you return it to him will be priceless. Good for you. The guy might even want to hug you hahaa. Hopefully this good deed will bring you a ring you can keep. Looking forward to the next video.
I have found $20 bills with my paper detector. I found a bunch of gold diamond rings in a parking lot. I figure the way I found them, that they collected insurance for them.
Good hunts Shano , and yes I watched all 16:22 of it . Love the fact you found that gold ring on the one year anniversary of your cache ! Cool story to go with it .Naturally I love the IH's , and silvers you guys found . But after that BIG honkin gold ring . My second favorite was that big key ! Beautiful find ..Well done guys !
Great find! but I'd hand the ring over and show everyone photos of it. Maybe one guy sold the ring to the other guy who buried the coin cache....and he's the one who really lost it - Did you consider that? lol!
Why do people rub the coins they find rather than clean them in water so you don't sand the value off of them? There's nothing like grinding sand and dirt on a coins face to increase the grade. Either way happy hunting.
That's a fantastic hunt, huge congrats! I've been thinking about getting a second intercept/dansco album for my dug wheaties. Now I wanna get an indian head album too.
The first find was a Russian name "Magko" with the year '94. The "b" at the end is a silent accent letter. The backwards "s" is a g. It also signifies it is a year, also written as "год" or god for the word year.
Nice dig, Congrats on the ring. Kinda spooky the correlation between the cashe and the ring. 1967, both on the coins and the ring. Happy Hunting Brother
Nice vid and congrats on the ring! I found one that was also 1967 and tracked down the owner by contacting the high school. He said it was in his wife's jewelry box that was stolen over 25 years ago. Man was he happy to get that back! I hope you can track down the owner of that ring too. Good luck!
Returning to owner??lets say you find a old 1800's sunken ship full of gold and you can track it down to owner cause they keep records on cargo. Do you have to return it? And I know a class ring is a little different or is it. Finders keepers Finding a class ring is a awsome but returning it is the bigger reward. One last ? are you going to return it or not I dont think you made it clear yet can you make another vid lolololol Next time title of video >>> I WILL RETURN IT!!!
Shane, you lucky son of a gun...No, I take that back. As you mentioned, you know your detector well, so that helps. So I know it's more skill than luck. (Plus the fact Ray buried a dime in his yard for you. Ha ha.) That key was huge! Very nice finds. By the way, I had already figured that you'd try to track down the owner of that ring so I wasn't even thinking of asking you about it. As always, another exciting video from you and Relic Ray. Congratulations!
Hahaha, what a nice guy uh? burying a silver dime just to make me happy! lol Yeah, hope the owner of the ring is a cool guy, it would make a heck of a video. Love to be able to share it here with you guys. Thanks again and HH
Just not fare how you find alot of awsome finds. Now you have people putting signs up for you where all the goodies are. I found a 1951 gold class ring and its amazing how they clean up it looked brand new. I took it back too the company in my town where they made it and we couldnt find owner guess he would be in his 80's now.To top it off the guy offered me $10.00 for it. lol I wouldnt even take $1000.... maybe 2000
lol, yup.. yeah, 10 bucks seems a just a little low... haha, love it when these dealers and people take us to be complete morons. I've never sold anything, but I've had stuff appraised and it's just amazing how low they try to get stuff for.
Oh wow never mind judging by how irritated you get by people asking if you returned the ring tells me your not going to. You give detectors a bad name.
you mean detectorists? Cause I don't think I make detectors look bad. And once again no matter what you guys who have nothing better to do say about what you THINK i'm going to do with MY finds (like it's any of your business), I do indeed intend to return the ring. Not that I give a hoot what you think, but just for the record. I will be looking him up in this off season while I cannot detect because of snow and frozen ground. There will be a video, and I expect some apologies as well.
From what I've read in the previous postings is that when we find something we need to give it back to the person that lost it. Well, I'm new to detecting and I found my first penny last weekend. I guess I should see if I can find the person that lost it...... It was on the beach at Galveston Tx. so if anyone can describe it please get with me and I'll return it. :(
Small town or just luck on finding the owner of that ring so quickly? Stand Up move Returning it by the way. You made me decide to buy a detector lol. Keep up the good work man.
oh, well you made a new comment, all you have to do is reply under his comment, so naturally I thought you were talking to me. Thanks for clarifying though.
finders keepers losers weepers ,,,I dident spend a lot of money and time for my detecters ,,to look for someones class ring or anything else just so I can find someone to clame it ,,,they lost it its gone now its mine ,,sorry if I hurt everyones feelings but when you find an 1889 dime are you going to call that person who way back in 1889 that lost it nnoooooo that person is dead ssoooo that dime is yours to keep have a nice day and h,h.
once again, i'm guessing you are pretty young with a comment like that, but as for the first part of your comment, I believe you are entitled to do whatever you want with it, it's your find. I think it's great if you want to return it, but if you didn't then that's fine too.
I would consider a used MXT, but if that's still too expensive, a whites coinmaster. you can get them most places between 150 and 200 bucks. that was my backup machine for a while. good luck
I found a class ring in my mothers cousins old front lawn. It turns out that it WAS her cousins class ring. What was the best part of the story is that they all had a graduation party over there in 1964 and her cousin lost her ring... It sucked and sort of ruined the party. Everybody looked for it. Well I had the pleasure of handing it back to her. It was like time never kept going for her. She still missed it. The tears welled up in her eyes and she could not believe what i just handed her. Now im 45 years old so that ring was lost for a very long time. I think the best reward was just the joy from the moment i handed it to her.
+Jay Sims I would also like to point out that nobody likes to lose anything important to them. Losing things is my biggest pet peeve. I drives me crazy. But I had a very nice necklace that I made myself and it had an amber cross on it worth about 50$. Now I was with a couple friends swimming in a creek and I put it down on a rock. When I came back for it .. It was gone. I knew my buddies didn't like the piece and they knew what had happened to it. They never did tell me where it was. I think they chucked it into the bushes. Needless to say I did not need those buddies. I still wish I could find it.
+Jay Sims Another BINGO! Good for you My MAN! "I think the best reward was just the joy from the moment I handed it to her." HOT DAMN! This is a Great Post People! NOTE: Your second Comment "Needless to say I did not need those buddies." You got that right!" A terrible thing for them to do!
I guess I am a horrible person.... I would never give the ring back.... they have been without it this long..... so .... who cares... would have seen what the value was and sold it.... maybe get another detector... or go on vacation... or pay bills.... what I find, I keep or sell.....
I don't think you are a horrible person for thinking like that at all. I think whoever finds it, it is their choice to do what they want with it. Everyone thinks they are the moral police, the fact is, it was lost by someone, they aren't going to know if you don't return it, so it can't hurt them. The other side of the coin is, it would be cool to see their reaction and appreciation if you did return it. It would also be cool to get a new detector. :) it's all whatever the finder wants, it's their choice. Freedom of choice!
Why don't you carry a toothbrush for field work, instead of rubbing the coins so hard? The patina on that one penny could have been stripped off. It is much more valuable with all the patina.
+Alakro _ It drives me absolutely crazy to see someone rub an artifact with their sand paper hands, and 99% of them do it. A soft bristled tooth brush and a little shot of water is all you need. If you can pack along a cannon ball, you can certainly find room for that. Right?
I hope you do give the ring back to the person that lost it. Nice finds. Don't curse yourself and keep that ring. Isn't worth it. Thanks for the video.
That ring should be returned. Yeah maybe this guy is close to dead but maybe he has a son or daughter that would love to have their fathers class ring.
wow that ring looked lush when cleaned, and finding the original owner after all those years was cool.hope he got a few bucks reward!!.... Great vid....
I live in Sharon Tennessee....I couldn't tell what other symbols are on that class ring but if it has an eagle on it it could maby be from someone who went to the old high school here
Hey Arlene, The coins can be worth something depending on their condition. Unfortunately the ground corrodes a lot of them, but silver coins come out great! watch my 500 silver coin cache video from 2 years ago, you'll see. The metal detectors can cost anywhere from 150 dollars and a couple grand, but the cheaper machines will still find great stuff. after that it's all about knowing where to go and learning your machine. I would recommend going with someone who is experienced who can show you how it works, and join a detecting club if there is one in your area. I'm in Mass, there are several in New England, and all over the states. let me know if you have any more questions, I will be happy to help. :)
you are a true gentleman and you will be rewarded for your good deeds I'm sure there will be a very interesting story with that ring when you get to meet the gentlman !
Yo Shano!, Not trying to be rude, but I was looking at your hands and the length of your nails and that led me to notice your finger print. Wow! 3:04 I know I'm weird so no need to go there.
scroll down dude, you will see several other people say the same. Yes, my nails were a tad bit long, but it wasn't going to break the guinness book of world records.. And hey, no problem man, I noticed it myself, and I probably would have busted someone elses balls for it too. Thanks for watching
Its great that you found the owner of that ring, I unearthed a gold ring just like that in 1993 and it was dated 1936 and the owner was still alive, She gave me her address and sent it out to her. '' It's smart to put your Initials in any class ring, especially if its Gold.
This is my first time watching your videos and I really enjoyed it! I'm glad you were able to find the owner of the beautiful class ring!! What I really liked was that gorgeous skeleton key!! The patina on it was amazing! I'll be subscribing and watching more! Blessings to you and your family. Sincerely, Ms. M
this guy needs to show the ground befor its dug then dig up the hole to show us all that he dug it out other wise hes a fake ,,,every thing he shows is already dug ,,,,3 silver dime in a row I don't think ssssssoooooooooooo!!!!
I don't know if it's even worth my time to respond to you, you're probably like 12 years old, but if "this guy" is referring to me, (which you're commenting on my channel, so I don't know why you wouldn't address the maker) You probably don't make videos of detecting. Live digs are great when you can get them, but it's difficult to film everything you dig and very time consuming. Go to some of my previous videos if you want to see i'm legit, I have many live digs, some of the videos are even labeled live dig. I don't have time to go around faking that I dug a silver dime to get popular on youtube.
+1JRrambo NO! Not fake and Silver explains it pretty well. It's next to impossible to show every "Hit" before it's dug up. Most days you get More "Nothing Hits" than you do "Something Hits" ALSO! If you hit coins there is nothing unusual about hitting a Group of them. Bet you don't do any Metal Detecting or you'd have known that FACT!
Karma Shane, return the ring before he passes and it will come back to you ten fold. But if he dies then I fear this will be the last of your luck when it comes to gold.
I would say good luck but I can see you don't need it. Funny thing is you have the video for bragging rights so your claim of holding on to it for a while to show it off doesn't pan out. If your ever in California give me a shout maybe we can hook up. Love to show you how little myself is.
What is it with you people who think they have to be the detecting ethics police!? I'm tired of people leaving ignorant asinine comments about what I need to do and questioning my intentions and integrity. Mind your own business and keep your comments to yourself. It's none of your business if or when I return the ring. Simple as that. I will return it when I'm ready end of story.
Silver Shano Glad to see I touched a nerve. That Shano is called a conscience and I am glad to see you have one. With that said I hope the ring finds it's rightful owner sooner rather than later. Just so you know if you don't want people in your business don't air it. Especially if you are going to make poor decisions while doing it.
Same!! Everybody now a days is into the latest greatest fancy kind and im thinking....yeah my whites Spectrum XLT can still preform just as good as the others if not better even lol
