Great stuff! That Exposition souvenir is really unique. The framed photo is awesome, too. Wish I had the luck of being able to check out houses before they're razed. Another fine video. Thanks for sharing and congrats on your finds!

Cool scrap tips and cool demo finds. The ship about to sail under the Golden Gate Bridge is the cruiser USS Houston (CA-30). She was a somewhat famous ship because President Roosevelt preferred to sail aboard her whenever he traveled abroad. She was sunk by the Japanese in the Java Sea along with the Australian cruiser HMAS Canberra. The survivors of both ships were captured by the Japanese and were part of the POW group that built the railway in Thailand and Burma that was made famous in "Bridge on the River Kwai." The Houston was erroneously reported sunk so many times (before being actually sunk) that she earned the nickname "The Galloping Ghost of the Java Coast." I learned of the Houston when I read the book "Ship of Ghosts" by naval historian James B. Hornfischer.

Very good,Just started metal detecting again after like 8 years, getting lots of copper, brass, tin, etc, going to round up some buckets! Very smart using the recycling money to by numismatic coins, I likely will buy silver or even small gold bullion with mine.

When I detect I keep pennies. Average 5-6 hours a week. Every year I average $200-250 in pennies alone. Apparently not many people like finding nickles either. I've been hunting a small park in the middle of the city and just today have pulled my 209th nickle from a 2.2 sq acre park of which I've detected less than 1/2 of it. If I keep the wino bottle caps I could fill up three 5 gallon buckets for sure.

Roughly 76 pennies an hour over 300 every time you go out. Either you finding complete rolls of coins or that story is complete BS

nice one. scrap in the UK now is hard as they have changed the LAW on it and you need a licence now. as people was robbing off the church roofs and stuff not good.
@Davey14
@Davey14 9 лет назад
darren kawasaki You dont need a licence to weigh scrap in at the scrapyard.Im a roofer and often weigh my lead and copper in.Anyone can take lead to the scrap yard the only difference there is they no longer pay cash.Its either cheque or paid into a bank account.Not sure with regards to buying scrap of other people though.
