OMG Hans, a 3000 year old find and Its looks to be in great condition. Thank you for unearthing history, that has been lost in this case thousands of years. Take care my friend.
+silvertopaz72 isn't it stunning? and I was the first human to touch it again after all this time. . unforgettable! thank you for watching and for your kind comment my friend, all the best, hans
It would be great to get some kind of a sequel to your tours, maybe where you and your archaeologists discuss the find and the place where you found it. Maybe it is possible to bring some finds in connection with the greater view of the region and its history, like the Spearhead. Would be great to see that, or maybe just hear it as a Podcast. Thank you very much for your videos! Just marvelous.
hello! I'm planning to hand on all information I will get about the finds as soon as I have them. unfortunately it is not possible to tell you about the place where I've found the relics as I would jeopardize the source. I would love to make a video together with an archaeologist and talk about the finds but I fear that most of them consider it to be inappropriate to be seen in a video together with a metal detectorist. maybe at some point in the future :) thank you for watching and for your kind comment!
The historical significance of the bronze spear point as explained by your archeologist would be an outstanding addition to this video. Thank you for your childlike enthusiasm and wonder concerning your finds. Excellent videography-- I like the brief interludes of nature.
"I can't take it anymore!" Haha, that's the best statement I have ever heard in a metal detecting video. Congratulations on a truly special discovery. You deserve it, for all your thoughtful and responsible detecting. May you have many more such opportunities to make the same statement.
+wadoman699 haha. . It's true. .this site is so nerve racking! thank you for watching and for your kind comment my friend! I apreciate your kind words :) all the best, hans
As a fan of the Bronze Age, my head is flooded with questions and scenarios as to how it came to be where you found it. You are the first person to touch it in 3,000 years or more. Just wonderful.
it's always a riddle how finds came to the places where they are being found. I just hope I didn't destroy a burial.. I was digging without extra caution as the finds where exactly on an ancient track and I didn't assume archaeological features in a hollow way. fact is that bronze age people used to bury people at the sides of ancient tracks. I think the archaeologists would have told me when I handed in the find. thank you for watching!
I know I'm late to the party, but Wat a find!! I discovered your channel last night and have been watching your mini docs since!! They're very well done, professional grade. Love that I have 5 years of videos to check out!!
Hi TerraGermania Look forward to your adventures every week. Great finds again, but very impressed with your care for the environment. Both keeping the sound of the detector to the phones, but especially the care of the seedling trees. You deserve a medal. Thanks again for you videos. Tony

Perfect time of year to hunt in deciduous woodland before the plants grow too high on the forest floor and that was an awesome find indeed. You don't see a spear head from thousands of years ago come up every day. GL&HH
hello richard! I enjoy every second in these beautiful woods and It is like a short vacation! you are right about the forest floor. . I even thought about temporarily taking away the leaves in certain areas to grab more depths . . of course I would spread the leaves again afterwards as it is important for the trees and fauna...the spear is a very unique find for me!! thank you for watching!!!
Absolutely fantastic!! Thanks again for another wonderfully documented search. The spear head find is so exciting and I hope you find more. I appreciate your sharing of your metal detecting experiences. Good luck! Mark

What a fantastic day in the woods you had Hans, I am so amazed that your emotions come across so clearly in your videos, I could feel the thrill you felt finding that wonderful spearhead. I had to laugh because the birds singing in the video started the birds outside my window to break into song. You make some wonderful finds Hans, what next I wonder? Take care, good luck 🍀 and happy hunting, Mary-Ellen UK 🙋 👍
+M Johnson hello mary-ellen, it indeed was a fantastic day. . in so man ways! the weather was beautiful, the birds were singing and of course the finding of this unique spear head :) it's funny that your local birds reacted on the ones in my video :) thank you for watching and for your kind comment mary- ellen! all the best, hans

What a great hobby 👍🏻 One day, when I don’t have to work 12 hours a day anymore, I’ll maybe doing it too. We here in Germany/ Europe have a lot of History hidden in the ground. I’ve found several lead musket& even one small canon cartridges in my garden in the middle of Stuttgart.
it is a great hobby :) make sure that you detect according to the detecting laws in germany. you need a permission which you can obtain from the respective department of archaeology. thank you for watching!
I love watching your older episodes. When you found the spear head you reverted back to your childhood on Christmas Day…..that is if you celebrated Christmas. In any case your complete happiness spilled over to me, I was laughing with you. Cheers from 🇨🇦
I'm happy to hear you like my older videos, too and I'm happy that I could convey my happiness about the finding of the spear :) all the best and happy christmas, hans

+Oldfaithful61 haha. . I'm happy to hear that :) but there will come times where finds aren't as spectacular anymore. . that's metal detecting reality . . .thank you for watching my videos and for your kind comment! all the best, hans
haha. . these buttons can be quite annoying especially when you are expecting a different find :D .. but i like buttons as they are indicators of habitation and human activity which lead to the confidence that one could find something nicer as well.
@@TerraGermaniaTG :) I hear a few explanations for the number of buttons. The first is the clothes used to be dug into the soil because they were biodegradeable and improved soil texture. The other (and this applies mainly to military buttons) is that old uniform coats were sometimes given to farmers to help them cope with the elements. What are your thoughts on the subject please?
I think it's a bit of everything. most of the times of course buttons simply tore off as they are in an exposed position on clothing. another reason why household items like buttons, thimbles but also money ended up on fields is the fact that people of former times dumped their litter on fields to fertilize them. with this litter and especially with the sweepings lost items inadvertently ended up on the fields.
waww! Definitely this place is a bottomless pit of INCREDIBLE and amazing finds!! I still no have words!! And you're a very lucky man, Hans! Thank you so much for showing and sharing ; every time is a big emotion! especially when I hear .."it's still in the hole"....;-D I wish you to continue with the research , for the story about this very beautiful place! Bye, see you soon
+\ prof yes it is and it's so nerve racking to detect there as there could be anything under the ground in this area! thank you so much for watching my videos and for your kind comments my friend! I'm so happy that you like my videos! all the best, hans

just imagine, the last person to touch that spear head passed away so long ago, I would so love to take up this hobby and I would be happy finding anything old or modern congratulations sir
we are talking about + - 3500 years here...It's a thought that is stunningly awe- inspiring and there is a certain energy jumping over from these items and it's causing shivers and goosebumps. these relics belong to the general public and it would be an awful crime to keep them or even sell them to end up in the private collection of some money bags somewhere in the world. my finds showcase is and shall remain youtube :) thank you for watching!
hello bill, haha. . thank you! that's a great compliment! It was one of my highlight moments of my detecting! thank you for watching and for your kind comment! all the best, hans

You are get me excited watching your findings. I can't wait to visit Germany again. My favorite country by far outside of my country (USA). The gold ring you found was really very special. I would love to hear more about it and the bronze spear tip!! Please keep up the good work sir.
I'm happy to hear that :) thank you for watching and for your kind comment! the finds I made on the excavation are still being examined and I will let you all know about the result in a special video as soon as I have them. one note about your next visit. metal detecting is subject to strict laws in germany. please be aware of that, I don't want you to get in trouble with the police. all the best and greetings from germany, hans
TerraGermania Yes sir, when I visit i certainly wont be able to bring a metal detector. There are so many things above ground in Germany that I have not seen that I will be too preoccupied to metal detect. Thanks for explaining the law for me as well.
haha. . yea that's indeed strange. it generally was a mystical day. holding this ancient weapon in my hands was ineffable. thank you for watching m videos :)
Hans, what a superb and historically significant find my friend, AWESOME!. Great video again and Im sure theres plenty more exciting finds to come from the area, well done and HH. Andy
That site.....again (just like your amazing field) It has great stuff from so many different periods of time! Roman, mediëval, 1600-1800's and now bronze age aswell...Crazy that a site holds so many different relics. Can't wait till your next video to see what is still in the ground there. Hi Hans, Wow-Wow-Wow, what an amazing find your Bronze Age spear head, I am very pleased for you, I know how you feel when you unearth something like that. One of my members found 3 Bronze Age axeheads about a month ago, a great find like yours, I think they were offerings to the gods at that time. Another great video Hans and one for you to savoir, all the very best my friend, Regards Richard.
hello richard, thank you my friend, I'm glad you like the spear head! It was absolutely fascinating and exciting to unearth this treasure :) wow! 3 axe heads! that's an extraordinary find! thank you for watching and for you kind comment! all the best, hans
A woman found 2 bronze age axes at my mum and dad's farm in Lancashire, although they are not worth very much, I actually got to hold one. Wow, if only it could talk. They are now in a London museum. Sometimes it's not about the value.
I found your metal detecting video today. Wow! What a wonderfully made video, REALLY interesting! MUCH better than other detecting videos! Thank you for explaining your finds and thank you for speaking English. A beautiful German forest.:) - Paul, USA
