Wow, really great finds. The coins and buttons all looked like they were in great shape. Even the real had great detail. The soil there must be just right for preserving them. Really great to watch, thanks for posting it!
Wow, an awesome hunt. The huge dandy buttons are awesome as well. Just don't find em in Tennessee. Lot's small flats, but not the earlier fancy stuff. Congrats on the silver. HH
Your coin finds are stellar! I have a question about one of the items in the roundup at the end...what are the oblong items with holes at the ends? I have found a few of those at my colonial sites and I have no clue what they are. Thanks for the vid and good luck this year!
Thanks Matthew, the oval pieces with holes were applied on horse saddles, they were used to hold the leather on the saddle. Most are decorative but some just plain. Iron nails or spikes would go in the holes to attach into the saddle
