About "that thing" that Aquiles uses a lot, on almost every song .. just a "simple" paradiddle (R = right hand; L = left hand) 4/4: R (Snare) L (left Ride) R (right Ride) R (right Ride) | L (Snare) R (right Ride) L (left Ride) L (left Ride) Sometimes he uses the left hihat over the left ride; and others he uses the right Ride over the left. You know; a few months ago he told in a interview that this paradiddle becames a obcession for him, after his teacher (Kiko Freitas) show it to him between some exercises - this was back on early 90s. It becames a kind of his signature.

I loved this song from the first time I heard it. The video played a big part in that, the close-up of the guitar solo had me amazed and I still love it to this day

Aquiles recorded 5 albums with Angra: Rebirth Aqua Aurora Consurgens Temple of Shadows Hunters And Prey (EP) Rebirth World Tour(live) The 3 members that joined Angra after the classic members left provide them a very productive moment in that band, it couldn’t Have been better. What happens after they split up again I just can’t manage to like so far.
I think that meditation could also help to not do improves into a song. It teaches you not to follow sudden urges and also connect to other levels of oneself. At the end, playing drums often was a kind of meditation for me...
Regarding the Dream Theater audition that took place in 2010, Aquiles made a mistake. He himself took over and spoke on a podcast here in Brazil. When Dream Theater called 7 drummers, they were the 7 best in the world at that time. Just that Achilles got there and recognized him says a lot about him. Even though he made mistakes, he never gave up. I think he's one of the best drummers in the world and I don't think he even needs to be in a band to be sure of that, because it's no wonder he's known as an octopus.
Should watch his student that now plays in Sepultura, the live version of Desperate Cry is one of the most incredible things that i never saw for a drummer.

Matheus Culchesk I’ve seen his performances, he is definitely an awesome drummer he makes that traditional grip work! However under Aquiles I’d rather see Ricardo Confessori behind the kit for Angra! He played on all the Andre Matos era albums!

So I think Fabio Lione is an amazing vocalist, Especially when he was in Rhapsody of Fire, but I just don't think he works well for Angra. I am a Edu fanboy! Also I get that a lot about Nergal, and I take it as a compliment. Nergal is a stud!

@@JerridBoutto Your're welcome, they record this show last year, and it's been lauched now. It's a tour in celebrating 15 years of the album release. Aquiles and Edu was members of the band back then.
Aquiles is perfectionist so, he probably played a lot and tooled be best footages to post but, he certainly got there and played at this level in one take.
