Great reaction! As others have said, Mediator dual would be awesome. You can also catch Eugene (bass) and Roman (guitar) on some of these and they are worth it. The guys write the music then Tati adds the vocals later, in Russian, then converted to English.

My favorite song from the Wallflowers album, the most recent record. Vortex is the first single. Drum cam was cool, hadn't seen that one before. Love how low Tati gets at the end. Eugene has a signature bass, an Achilles 5 Mark II from Overload. Roman is an OD guitar artist. Your first song from this album. Bill, if you're interested in ideas for doing double reactions there are some songs by Epica you should check out. One thing they've done on several albums is record a song then on the same album also record a cover version of that song. There are alot of good ones. My personal favorite is "Cosmic Algorithm" and the cover version "Funky Algorithm" there is also "Dancing in a Hurricane" and "Dancing in a Gypsy Camp" and "Universal Death Squad" and "Universal Love Squad" those are the only 3 official + cover song combos I can think of off the top of my head.

Sweet! You took my suggestion and did a double play including playthrough! As the Spaniards say "much grass," if you know what I mean (and I think you do judging by the number on your new Jersey). Dig the beard beads too. I have some similar ones. So much to say about this song bro. I know you wanted to get through what was a long vid for you. This song is a lot. For one, the drums absolutely kill. Have you ever heard so many ghost notes on a snare in one song before? I think Vlad saw a g-g-g-ghost Scoob! Zoiks! It's a freaking clinic in ghostliness! Very scary, ooooooooooo! Vlad is a scary monster. Vlad the Impaler. That low flat kit, no rack toms, extra snare, all those cymbals on weird mountings. That open-handed style of his, so ergonomic, conservation of motion like you said. People sometimes talk about his posture, which is almost hunched over. In some videos he actually has the whole kit angled AWAY from him, which is freaking weird. In the playthrough you can catch a ton of nuance in the way he plays. Like how he uses the bell cymbals to make them stick out in little spaces. Brilliant! Or the way he throws in syncopated slow backwards quadruplets right after that middle turnaround part, once using kicks and then cymbals, and again with kicks and then toms. Brilliant! You noticed right away that the end features two parts that are pretty much free of time signature. He just casually throws in a few measures without count--just playing it by feel! You know how hard that is to pull off as a full band in realtime? WHIRL! SPIN! SWIRL! Then pause... and Tatiana takes us "to the depths of the Wortex," as she puts it in her adorable accent, with one of the deepest, sickest, most gutteral growls any human has ever produced. Right down in Alex Terrible territory. As the Vortex Trash Monster hoovers up all the stuff from the sucking thing, like that ball rolling around in your old video game. Then they finish you off with another dose of that timeless WHIRL SPIN SWIRL riff. Brilliant! Did you notice that this song has no traditional rock/pop song structure? No verse, no chorus, no bridge, no lead. It just evolves from one never-repeated part to another, like a ball rolling downhill. The exact center of the song features that crazy swirling instrumental part with extended scream, and it feels like the whole song circles around that Central part--like a vortex. Their song concepts are so brilliant that even the very structure augments the lyrical message, and the instrumental colors of the tones add to the overall gestalt. It's like a classical concerto in a metal song bro! Starting out soft and mellow, with the coolest drum groove ever, and just snowballing into a roar of demonic defiance at the end. Dude the guitar and bass tones at the end are so dirty. So nasty and grungy and sickeningly savage. Wait till you start checking out the guitar and bass playthrough vids! This playthrough was fully live. Tatiana absolutely destroys this song live. When you see them live she'll make you feel things you've never felt before. That deep growl will scramble your innards bro. Your wife likes Uhtred Son of Uhtred and Rollo; for me there's Lagertha from Vikings (the single most powerful and alluring female figure in television history IMO--how about that funeral scene) and then there's Tatiana "Captain Metal" Shmayluk. Her shy, mild-mannered offstage alter ego transforms into a roaring superhero onstage. As the dad of a twenty-something girl (tomorrow's her birthday!) the feminist in me loves the female empowerment. Tatiana consistently evokes poetic images of mental health issues, self-doubt, vulnerability--but her very essence exudes power onstage. Take your wife to a Jinjer concert, even if she's not into metalcore. Go to one of the small venue headlining shows with general admission and get up close. You can do it even as a bemused "elderly gentleman" (as they're describing our President these days). I've gotten right in the pit twice now, at my age. There's often a lot of girls and women down in there. Have you ever been surrounded by a moshing crowd of women? I have! And I didn't even try. I just looked around me and realized there wasn't a single guy in my immediate vicinity. A singular experience, and I hope entirely a nonthreatening one for all the women. They were all too busy staring at Tatiana. She could have had anyone in that crowd, man woman child or nonbinary. She is the queen. Dang my comment is almost as long as your reaction lol. I could say more! Jinjer is my favorite band since Rush retired. I highly recommend you gobble up some tickets and see them live at earliest opportunity. They're still working on the new album, which should be out this year, with world tour to follow. They've announced European festival dates, but the only North American dates announced so far are two makeup shows in April in Wisconsin and Las Vegas. I'm considering making a Vegas vacation out of that show! Keep on rockin' SKÅL brother!

Under the Dome seems to be one of their lesser known tunes, but I like Vlad's playthrough of that one very much. I recommend, if only on your own time, not as a reaction.

Suggestion for all Jinjer fans: try IKINÄ from Finland! They have not one but TWO badass female singers who can both scream and sing beautifully--and they do both in harmony! Every song is a banger, on all three albums. Their latest (self titled) album is heavier and djentier than the other two, but I like the older ones at least as much. Loaded with chunky riffs and killer melodies. I've become obsessed with them almost as quickly as I did with Jinjer. Give em a try! Maybe start with Rituaali.

Awesome reaction Bill. I really like the double reaction. There are many playthroughs available for drums, bass, and guitar for many of Jinjer's songs. Maybe from time to time you can do OMV and live versions. A good example would be Judgement (& Punishment). Most reactors play just Tatiana's One Take performance and don't bother with the excellent OMV. How about playing the OMV and then the One Take? That would be excellent! Love the Maiden shirt by the way!

I have one rule for following reactors these days....can I get Ren AND Jinjer content from someone I enjoy watching? If the answer is yes, then I'm a new subscriber. And so I am.

Vlad completed JINJER. The rest is up to you to discover. The band is a fresh change to the "norm" that we no longer desire. JINJER is one of the best metal bands in the entire world.
