I caused myself a lot of grief with this one doing a couple things the wrong way which probably caused the two and a half hour build time longer then it should, but once I got straightened out, it was a fun build and wonderful results.

Looks good man. Built this today for my first earth metal model. I had the exact same issues. Took way too much time on my first leg because I was trying to attach it in the wrong orientation. The second leg came together much faster. To address the 2 tabs holding it to the base, I put 1 drop of super glue where the stomach meets the base to keep it at the proper downward slant showed in the picture. I don't have the curve forming tools you do but I found that the grips on my tools worked just as well to form the pieces around. The tips of my fingers are numb and my fingernails are all scratched up but it came out great. Keep it up man!

Like you I also easily messed up the legs so I took a bit little tiny dabs of super glue and put it on the under side of the leg attachments it holds good. Then the underside of the base too

Got this as my first metal earth build and the dragon legs didn’t align well for me either.

I just purchased my own Gringott's Dragon. I won't be constructing it right away, as I have other metal models want to build first. Just successfully completed the Washington Monument, the Steam Locomotive and am almost finished with the White House model! One has to wonder, however.... do these models exist to challenge our skills at handling small, complex 'museum quality replicas' or add to our individual levels of stress? I personally wonder why they aren't a bit larger?

Titan52berg there are larger models. The ICONX line is a bit larger but they cram even more detailed in which looks great but puts you back doing tiny pieces again.

I am new to these and got this dragon as my first one. Helpful to watch your vid of it. When you were talking about the tools I couldn't catch the type of clippers you use to remove the pieces from the sheet. What are they called so I can find what I need to get? I also have the Hogwarts Express so I have saved that video ready! Many thanks. Sas :)

I am currently using Plato flush cutters. They have worked well for quite some time. How long did yours take you to build, I spent around two to three hours to build, but that's was watching TV at the same time lol, it was really fun to build, orderedmy first bigger model, the silver dragon, I'm excited to start that one
