you can melt wax into the cavity to provide some additional strength the the finished pressing before mounting...

That worked great Paul. I once bought a sheet of what I thought was MDF but it was a really dark brown and heavy. I have never seen it being sold again and I don't know if it was a special form of high density fibreboard but it would be ideal for making the dies. Regards, Mark
