You’d think after all these years, the father would’ve realized all the physical and emotional abuse actually *wasn’t* helping his son improve. So I guess that on top of being batshit, the old man wasn’t too bright.

Some of the stuff they wrote in about glams experience in an abusive household is scarily accurate, especially the intrusive thoughts about hurting your abusers

Fun thought I just had. When Sebastian plays the record and realises it's not bach. He tries to get up. But can't. This is because metal and rock music can be calming when experiencing angry or negative emotions.

Sebastian totally would have shot his father before turning 20 if he hadn’t left home.

It’s so weird to see Glam/Sebastian without a smile. I fully get *why* he isn’t smiling, but he really feels like a totally different person here. I’m so happy he managed to escape his family in the end.

I love how the topic of abuse was handled with such care. This made me tear up and relate to glam so much more. I really hope we can also get Victoria's backstory.

2:28 as someone who has self-harmed, and had similar cuts in the wrist like this, I *felt* this. The subtle music buildup feels like the adrenaline and your stomach sinks deeper, anticipating the pain. Those three-lined pupils give a great representation to the searing white-hot pain that it inflicts. Like a burning sensation. Literal chills.

I feel so bad for the people that relate to glam's past. I'm so sorry that any of you would have to go through something so terrible and agonizing. I wish you all well.. And this episode hit different even though I grew up in a normal household I try to put myself in his place and I don't even know how I would still be alive.

It's a shame that many find fault with Gustov's voice acting...VERY rude. the voice acting is awesome for all the characters, do not forget that this adaptation is not with a multi-million dollar budget.

I think it’s very interesting how this episode connects with some others. What I noticed is that Glam made a puzzle to hide his diary and art project, which I think would explain why he was so good at the escape house.

OMG GLAM TREATS HIS SON SO MUCH BETTER THAN HIS OWN FATHER. In the last episode he gets angry at him and burst out like his father when dee couldn't play the guitar and he got really shocked at himself but they apologised .

I genuinely started breaking down when Glam started sobbing on his bed after the chat with his father, I know the EXACT feeling and I just started having a breakdown with Glam. The intrusive thoughts, pushing people who are nice to you away in fear of what your family might think, a sibling who isn’t there to support you but instead bring you down, the abuse and the way Glam sobbed and began throwing everything in his room on the floor. Everything. Everything, 100% accurate, and finally, Glam growing incredibly tired and feeling numb and giving up by playing music to distract himself and being too exhausted to push himself off his own bed. Ouch ouch ouch, that was the feeling of my heart breaking bro, bravo to the writers and the team, incredible piece of art this episode and every episode before and after this one is, mwah! Edit: I forgot to mention but Glam wishing harm onto his family is another thing I sympathize with. It might seem cruel out of context but it’s clear he’s only caught up in the heat of the moment and not actually going to do anything, even if he did have intrusive thoughts, he clearly needs help and therapy if he’s having intrusive thoughts but after his family has hurt him for so long I could see why he would wish bringing “lice” or the plague or smth of the sorts. It’s clear he just wants them to feel the pain he’s feeling. I love Glam and i’m so so happy he got out of that situation somehow. Also small shout out to Chive!! Love Chive!1!1

Damn this really portrays how ptsd and abuse effects someone, as someone who had a “bad” home life I can relate so clearly it is unreal.

The whole thing with Glam being furious at Chive was honestly relatable. He felt as if he had complete control of this situation, since he was raised to be the best (Although his father lowered his feeling of self worth) and when he didn’t succeed, he lashed out, feeling rage towards Chive because he felt as if it was his fault. Not his own or his father’s. It’s very relatable and quite saddening.

It’s upsetting that his whole life has been monitored. He has to wait for his room to get inspected in case of anything “weird”, and to top it off he’s not even allowed to make any sounds that are out of the ordinary, like when he whimpered as he placed his wounded wrist under water. It’s a miracle that Chive was able to help him get through it, a good friend right there really.

The depths of this episode. The box being the same one his gun came in the one that was sucha catalyst for this episode. It must symbolize the destruction or rebellion or something of glams. Showing that our worst days will still have a an effect on us even after escaping as he unwittingly re-created the tone his father used even if not the physical abuse. I myself was blown away by the recreation of "Beethoven lives upstairs" with the monolouge. Not sure if it was intentional but it got me. This whole episode is so eye opening and heartbreaking. To think if i am not mistaken this all came from one video about love at first sight and returning keys. Brava/Bravo to all involved.

This is the first fiction I've come across where the butler is downright abusive too and is not afraid to show it I love this series

I was VERY excited to hear how Sebastian’s voice sounded in English. Im not disappointed at all.

I was holding my breath for the last song, because it means a lot to Sebastian and the whole Glam backstory. It came out pretty good actually! But I wish, somehow, it could have the original song. Damn you copyright!

This hit incredibly close to home. People rarely show physical harm as punishment, so even if it’s nothing like anything I ever experienced it still feels incredibly familiar. It hurt so much watching in the best way possible. I never cry when watching media, but this made me tear up.

Ok, this is my first time watching, but fucking hell, Glam lived a actual hell I have never seen before. Like I generally felt so disgusted watching and hearing every aspect of this fucking family put him through, those thoughts he had were justified, I get why he acted like that briefly with dee and honestly, i am so curious to see how he became the person he is today, it’s so vastly different that I am just compelled. I just found this series and wow, I am invested

Personally I think Chive knew what Glam was going through so in order to cheer him up he gave a twisted sister album disguised as Bach

The part before he listened to the record was honestly so sadly relatable. After I get yelled/screamed at I always cry into the bottom of my bed and then mumble curses at my dad. ❤sorry for all that go through stuff like that

This definitely reminds me of my best friend introduction me to rock. Before that was Christian and religion force down my throat and it was a escape and now it made me realize to pursue everything, and that I say thanks to the Land SHARK!

"Shaming yourself, shaming me" He said the same thing his dad would say to him. Then he started walking towards Dee in a threatening manner but stopped himself when he heard him call out Dad looking scared. I'm glad he caught himself there and later apologized. Still though telling him he had no musical talent while praising the other sibling, didn't sit well with me. However, I'm so glad he's trying to break free from the generational trauma. He stopped before actually hurting his son, he apologized when he realized he was being harsh. He kept himself on a timer so they don't spend hours and hours, i think it's a way to keep himself in check. He's a much better dad than his was, generational trauma is hard to shake, but he's trying. He still have a ways to go because at the end of the day Dee did get disheartened by his words and by something that's actually a challenge for him. But he's trying, that's more than many can even claim.

Recent fan, I finished the original Russian verison a few weeks back when I was introduced to the show via English dub. I SIMPLY LOVE THIS SHOW. Glam's childhood simply break my heart. The animation and voice acting (in both languages) know how to convey such emotion! ❤ I'll admit tho, I wish the end song was still Twisted Sister but I understand, copyright can be so annoying. I know this isn't real, but this does look very accurate, and even though I didn't grow up with abusive parents, and we aren't really wealthy, I just feel really horrible for him.
