Those hardcore Metal Gear fans who unironically use Metal Gear Solid 2's misinformation scene as their sole reason to ruin Metal Gear Survive with misinformation should look at themselves in the mirror. They became what they were destined to destroy. Sucks for them.
I was baffled when I saw this hadn’t even gotten past 5K views. You convinced me to try a game I never thought I’d even glance at, you hit three youtubers without resorting to petty insults or even raising your voice, and the whole video showed tight editing and pacing. Excellent stuff!
@@maskedspirit3942 Oh, I’m dumb. I thought the game was pretty decent. Clearly made by some talented people doing the best they could with a corporate mandated concept and a shoestring budget. Though the cash shop is way worse than this video makes it out to be. Still, if you can grab it on sale for a couple of bucks I think you’ll have a good enough time.
I picked this up for 10 bucks as I’m running through the series again leading up to Delta and had never played this one. And it’s probably the last piece of new content from the franchise we’ll ever see. It’s enjoyable for what it is and the mechanics are fun if you’re craving more of V’s feel. I def think this was mostly a victim of what went down between Kojima and Konami. I didn’t have a bad time with this one, 6 years beyond the pitchfork mob and going in not tainted by internet vitriol or any expectations whatsoever for it. It’s not up there with the greats but it’s not the irredeemable piece of shit the internet made it out to be. And I think this was the only way for Konami to go with the IP. Too soon for remakes and a new MG game proper would have gone down so much worse. A zombie spinoff of a game people already loved makes sense.
Bought this back in release. Quickly realized the reviewers didn't even make it past the first few hours of the game. Glad I saw past their bullshit and continue to hop on this game every now and then.
And i realize that guys like you dint even get to do the research of the deeper criticism that this atrocious game recieved in the first place to understand or you guys refuse to understand the hatred it got and having the **lls to call people that criticize it as "bs" so let me give you a little bit of an educational knowledge for you to have a brain to think before you start talking nonsense. Now in short First of all, this game was released not long after KONAMI (culprit developers) kick out hideo Kojima RED FLAG. Second, This was the first game developed under the leadership of the new CEO without Hideo Kojima's idea presented in the game and they wouldn't even aloud him to participate in 2015's game of the year awards because of this scandal related to KONAMI did you forgot about that as well you clown? THIRD, konami is one of the worst gaming companies in the industry for allowing their shaddy policies to allow abusive practices on their employees if they ever dare to criticize their business desicion not to mention they had multiple cameras inside their headquarters not to secure the safetyness of their employees but to MONITER them to make sure they dont do anything out of the companie's interest. Fourth, Turning their beloved franshises like Silent hill, contra, Castlevenia into their own disappointment of a bunch of spinnoff and Pachinko machines because of GREED easy money And last but not least This game had the audacity to charge mor%ns like you 10 dollars if you ever wanted to get a second save slot to play with another creative character and forcing you to be ALWAYS ONLINE even if you wanted to play it on solo. And why on God's green earth did this game had to be a survival game with zombies!? SO YEAH people aren't playing it anymore because it sucked, and i'm glad barely a small minority of people in the world aren't playing this atrocious "Cash grab" because in comparison to the OUTSTANDING Phantom Pain, only less than 250,000 copies we're sold from MTSurvive while Phantom Pain reach over the 5 millions sold worldwide and in the Eyes of KONAMI they even said that Metal Gear: Survive was considered as a DISAPPOINTMENT, it was a BOMB in Konami's finances. So the next time you have the nerve to tells us that have a common sense to make a proper desicion on not investing money on a product that DOESN'T deserve the money invest it in that were talking "bs" for having reasonable critics regarding on a game like this is disingenuous and disgusting to say the least. I would suggest you to next time shutT ** up and think before you start spitting nonsense like this so DO your homework and research on a topic before you go in on a disastrous take like this. 🖕😏
Got the game when it was first released and I still play it 4 years later. I think it’s really fun. I wish there was more people playing online cause I enjoy the multiplayer missions. The game didn’t deserve all the hate it got. I don’t think people ever gave it a chance.
I felt the same. Was it defiling a much beloved game series? Yes very much so. Was it actually gutter trash like everybody said it was? No, personally I don’t think so. It’s nothing exceptional but most people that call it bad probably haven’t even played it and are understandably just mad that this is the direction the series ended on.
I think if it didn't have metal gear it probably wouldn't have fared so bad. I played over lockdown and had fun. Coop is where it's the most fun It's a grind type game but I enjoy it, for great value out of it for $12.
Ty, finally a fucking honest review on the game taking into account of EVERYTHING. I've had heated debates about this over the years with fellow MGS fans, and it's just so refreshing to hear from someone who actually looked beyond the pure unadulterated hate. I seriously wish people would give this game another try, there is a community here, and we welcome everyone willing to give it a fair shot! I do love Kojima for the work he did do & has done. But I won't put him on a pedestal that he, and only he created these games & franchise. He may have spawned it(sorta) but the franchise grew beyond his own boundaries. Ty for also calling out these specific "reviewers" and their extremely hyperbolic reviews, because I watched them myself and couldn't help but damn near lose it back then lol Because it was so obvious they didn't bother with the game at all, or try to understand it. Just flat out lying because of the mob mentality wanting to "Stand up for Kojima" when he did not deserve to be stood up for imho, because Both Kojima and Konami were in the wrong and imo Kojima more so for wasting Time & Money on meaningless bs just to "Show off." Then proceeded to go behind Konami's back to make P.T. when he should of been working on MGSV. If there's anyone to blame for MGSV being incomplete, it's entirely Kojima's fault.
I agree 100% with everything you said. I went through everything you described. I would see all the hate reviews and get so annoyed. The game was never given a fair chance. It’s nice too see someone else that doesn’t immediately put kojima on a pedestal. I like him, but I can why konami wanted to cut ties with him. Always over budget and late to release. I love MGS as I’m sure you do. It’s frustrating because I would love a new MGS, not a remake. Unfortunately I don’t know if they will ever happen because most MGS fans won’t give it s chance. Honestly having different people work on it could bring some new ideas. I mean I like Kojima, but I’m an MGS fan, not a Kojima fan. I really enjoyed reading your comment because you said what I’ve been saying and thinking for so long. It’s nice seeing I’m not the only MGS fan that not a hardcore kojima fanboy too. I still play survive online. If you ever wanna play hit me up.
@@illegalonsunday6838 All these Kojima dick-riders (not you guys) really went on my nerves everytime they said 'this franchise will never come back without him' or 'this game (probably all spin-offs) is bad because he's not directing it.' Like, geez, those people needs to understand that Kojima even wanted to gave his staffs a chance to create a MG game without his involvement. This game unfortunately was overshadowed by those controversies (even that also applies to Phantom Pain) Now he's in a better place, create a game he wanted, and they should let go of everything behind. I remember how he thanked Konami for letting him to create MG series. And remember that Konami is not the only company who treated their staffs badly, it's something uncommon (?) in Japan, I am afraid.
This video saved my marriage...but also killed my dog. I will say after watching the entire video, this is not the game I thought it was. I'm actually pretty intrigued and might give it a shot.
Quite honestly thank you for this, as a long time fan of MGS for what it is, you've brought a new perspective upon me towards survive, I'll definitely be diving in
Even before it was announced I remember thinking the Fox Engine would be great in a zombie/survival setting. Then they made this game. It's nothing revolutionary, but it's still a ton of fun. Great video.
I kinda jumped on the hate train for this game back in release and a fair amount of the gameplay I saw in general didn't really convinced me that it was worth a try But I think now it is, the gameplay you showed and how you explained things about it convinced me to pick it up If I ever see it on sale (not looking forward to the spiders tho...) Props to you for making this video so well and easy to understand and for calling out the reviewers too, I hope you don't face backlash
exactly my story for this game too! but yesterday i picked it up and its fun and kinda unique the marketing on this game really failed hard. this is no game for people which wanted another metal gear game. i also watched trailers back then.. and none of them really showed what the game truly is... i simply believe it got marketed to the wrong playerbase.
I can imagine Konami telling Masahiro Ito “those nerds don’t understand symbolism they just want cool scary monsters, who cares if pyramid head is a deconstruction of James negative masculine traits he’s scary and people love him” Ito: “I suppose you’re right…” Then the topic blows up because of RU-vid silent hill video essays and he has to live with the shame, oooof.
You don't need to complete the hard difficulty missions to progress in the story. It can help iirc, but what matters most is listening to the yellow tapes and doing the yellow side ops. Building up MB also helps.
Goddam what a great review of a game! I’m not into Lost Ark stuff at all so I don’t see much reason for me to subscribe but this review was so good i wish you were a review channel, or at least that you made a video like this once in a while. Maybe in a similar vein, unknown, underrated or unnecessarily hated game review without bias or uninvolved with the context for its “hate” or lack of attention. Or just any game that picks your interest or that you feel passionately about, you do such a good job at critiquing it that i wish i could see more of it!
I'm going to be completely honest, I do agree with basically everything you said and I loved the video, however, the main problem with metal gear survive (from a marketing point of view) is the metal gear... Fans of the series will flock to such a game with high expectations or not go at all, now I always get in a game without any expectations, and I do enjoy survive a lot, but I do kinda understand why some people are afraid to actually try it
I noticed a lot of the big gaming youtubers actually suck at games and are only popular because of charisma. This is not a game for people with low attention spans.
The thing that insta killed this game was putting the METAL GEAR name on it. while it's no MG and not a fantastic game overall it's actually better than alot of people think.
survive was awesome. mgsv getting its own undead nightmare was something i didnt know i needed until i got my hands on it. when i saw the CURE menu, a feature from a game from years ago that easily could have been reworked into something else, i knew this game was gonna be a good experience
You're the only channel that made me use the "watch later" function of youtube. Video is great, script is great, informative. There was so much done to make sure this game was not being noticed but if you go past the first three hours of the game you can find some good game in MG:Survive IF you like a slow paced crafting/survival game done in the magnificent Fox Engine. I'm subbed.
Im one of those few players online in MG-Survive. This game is so slept on! Those reviewers that gave this game bad reviews did not get pass the first few objectives within the game. Yes the weapons at first seem dull and nearly impossible to complete missions at first, but as you progress the survival aspect just depletes later on the more different weapons and gear you find. So happy that there's actually somebody out there telling the truth on how fun this game really is.
It’s funny how half of the reviewers go “the combat is just placing fences and poking the zombies with sticks” because they didn’t even get past the first hour.
I remember when this game came out. I really wasn't an MGS fan back then. I just remember how much hate Konami was getting at the time. I've since played through most of the games in the series. MGS:V has become one of my favorite games even though it's not fully baked. I was reminded about MGS:S recently and stumbled upon this video. I just want to thank you for giving an honest opinion on the game. I'm definitely going to check this game out.
One of the most fun games I've ever played. Glad I ignored the schmucks. It's a fantastic showcase of what the Fox engine can do when not held back by previous gen hardware. Things like the base defense and customizing layouts was stuff that was supposed to be in MGSV anyway,. The Lord of Dust is one of the few times I've been awestruck by a video game, wondering just how the hell I'm supposed to beat that. Hardest platinum I ever got, but what a ride it was getting there.
I got the game at launch and while i was interested by the wormhole stuff at the beginning i lost interest in the story soon after and dropped the game until recently. I've now finished the game and still don't think it's very good, first off it was marketed as a co-op game and that's even what we played in the beta but in the full release the co-op is confined to the base defense salvage missions only. The reason people hated zombies is because that's all that there is, the Fox engine worked so well partly because of how Soldiers reacted to you but you can't do much with mindless zombies. Survival would've been fine if you weren't constantly having to top up your hunger and thirst meters, the dust while eerie at first also became quite annoying since contrary to this video you can't replenish your O2 tank by entering a fresh air zone and instead have to spend your in-game currency to add more oxygen to the tank, it also baffles me that crawling and crouch walking uses stamina. As for bosses there basically aren't any until you hit endgame when 2 bosses called Bigmouth and Frostbite can randomly appear which are actually fairly cool but have an insane amount of health compared to anything else you've fought, but during the story you only fight a powered up version of a regular enemy type and the Lord of Dust which while a major plot point and really cool looking especially when you run into in the dust doesnt even have a fight and you just fight hordes of zombies like most of the other missions. A thing I did like was base building and finding new recipes to add more things to my base but i wish so many of the recipes weren't locked to salvage missions and that my staff would harvest things on their own, I also don't like how they can't defend base camp with me and it's either I do it alone or they do it. The co-op mode is fairly decent especially when you get some solid teamwork going and have your subclasses set up nicely, it can be genuinely fun and it's too bad you can't have at least one buddy with you throughout the story.
I'm genuinely happy you brought to light what the game is all about, even though I felt conflicted at first. Reviewers need to be checked, for sure. But still, at the end of the day, it just doesn't feel like authentic metal gear. That's my problem with it. Releasing after MGSV did not do this game any favors. Dunkey did say that even if this game was good, fans would hate it. He wasn't wrong about that. To me, this game has the engine of MGSV, but none of the characters and none of the story. It'll always be viewed as a failure.
David Hyater removal by Kojima held me from hating Konami. I got really pissed like many fans because he fired Hayter despite everyone wanted him. I kinda want to buy the game on pc this time after 6 years I played it, forgot about it but it was fun to play...
recently got this for 5.99 from a psn sale aaaaaaand holy hell is this game incredibly fun. the gameplay loop alone is actually relaxing for me and the story is interesting enough to keep me goin through it every night. sucks that alot of people slept on this game, myself included
I watch those reviews of the game and while I don’t think too badly about it, I definitely don’t have the intention to try it but after this watching this video i think i will buy this game when there is a sale and try it out That was som fancy game reviewing, you’re pretty good
I do wonder if Metal Gear Survive (and Death Stranding) is a repurposed takes on the Silent Hills game they were going to do. A version of Silent Hills as a Metal Gear game because it allowed them to reuse the maps from Metal Gear Solid 5. One of the big inspirations on Silent Hill was Stephen King’s The Mist, and Survive is practically a Mist video game. Even something like the whole military aspect, which could be seen as a concession to fit the Metal Gear series falls in line with the whole Arrowhead Project aspect of The Mist, and the very strong hint that the Lovecraftian monsters attacking the town in The Mist came from a military experience with trans-dimensional portal technology...this is Half-Life and Stranger Things too. Survive is like a game about the Arrowhead Project where you’re going to the other side. It’s easy to imagine it as a Silent Hill game, where instead of reused MGSV maps your in a different dimensions version of Silent Hill and trying to survive. That’s something I found so funny about the knee-jerk reaction to this game. Because at a certain point it started to become pretty clear both this game and Death Stranding were probably takes on things they were kicking around for Silent Hills. And yeah, the negative reaction to zombies in this game right after MGSV had zombies, just because of what Kojima said, was an oddly brain dead reaction. Like I saw some people point out that the negative reaction didn’t make any sense given previously Metal Gear games already had zombies, but most people just rolled with it because of what was going on between Kojima and Konami at the time. And also the gameplay, MGSV had fantastic gameplay, and this still had that core game at the core of it. Like even with its problems, because of what it was building off of, Survive still feels better to play than the majority of other third person shooters.
Thanks man. This is an excellent video. It was impressive how you took some of those giant reviewers to task on their less than thorough reviews. The real injustice is that you have less than 20k subs. I'll bet it's at least double this time next year if stay passionate about it.
I just finished it today, I actually loved it. I wouldn't say the story was a master piece but I actually loved playing it. And after all this time I'd honestly say I prefer it to MGS 5... if not strictly due to the coop in the game. I cant deny that neither game hits the mark like peace walker did for me, I will always dream of peace walker remade in the fox engine
*An internet connection is required to play the game. This, this is the reason for my disdain of the game. Nothing angers me more than a game having drm(Just makes me sail the blue sea more) or being always online(a game dying cause they turn off the lights at the server room (or my connection act up), just makes me want to get it knowing itll be a digital boxart)
I don’t even like MG Survive that much but I really enjoy your take on it. It’s refreshing to see something that isn’t just “Me no like Konami so me think game instantly bad.” It’s nice seeing credit given to the people who put their passion behind this project.
I never really thought much of this game, to be completely honest with myself. It's on sale right now on Steam, very very cheap, and watching this video made me want to give it a chance! Thanks for a genuinely great thought-provoking video, dude!
Always annoyed me, how this game got unfairly bandwagoned by mad Kojima fanboys and garbage youtubers looking to get easy clicks by shitting on the game
I actually tried the game and honestly, it's not as bad as critics claim it is. I really hate the fact it got so much BS because of the fact these reviewers are complete boneheads.
I'm a huge sucker for Zombie games and big Metal Gear fan so I was actually hype back when this game was announced. After playing it and really enjoying it, I was surprised to see the sheer amount of hate that was dumped on the game despite it being really fun. Not perfect by any means, but nowhere remotely close to being a bad game. Nice to hear someone else articulate that in a smart and passionate way! Great video 👍
Probably won't play this game as I tend to hate open world survival games with crafting as a genre. But I must commend you for how concisely you criticized other reviewers.
I am very tempted with this game, but I'm wary that it's online only. Once the servers go offline, that's it. Do you think that will happen or if they release a offline patch?
Survive might be more bearable if the needs system wasn't draining the player character so fast, that alone gave even more bad impressions, aside from the 'Kojima vs. Konami' fiasco when Survive came out.
I remember watching the reviews for this game and not believing them. I thought they were just exaggerating how awful it was. I was expecting MGSV with zombies, but instead got a cash grab with less than half the equipment and weapons. I still want my money back.
Awesome look back at Kojima worshippers. Yeah zombies is what crosses the line when the puppet soldiers get a pass because the name they have. I almost forgot I was playing an mgs game during all that with the parasite.
Wow, I loved this video. I got this game because I just couldn’t get into Metal Gear 5, Previous Metal Gears had never really been that fun for me, I don’t know why. I loved the way the game felt in 5 so when they announced “Survive” I was really interested because it refocuses all the mechanics I liked about 5 but puts them in a game that I can go at my own pace, explore, and honestly there were soo many times in this game where I was panicking because it has nail biting moments. Definitely not the best game ever, but I really did enjoy my time in it, and I always felt a little sad that my friends never took a chance on it, because I actually really enjoyed the co op missions too. Thank you for making this video!
So I started playing Survive since a while, doing themed run of my own characters from one of my stories for different play styles and I still like it I love the concept of an open-world zombie type survival game and I think Survive does it better than some games I see It keeps the mechanics relatively simple, but still asks you to manage yourself properly in order to give the feeling of what a survival situation like this should feel like And since it adds to some mechanics that TPP had, it feels like part of that game, yet still give enough to be its own game It's just a shame that there is so much hate for it and that when I attempt at another salvage mission, I have to do it on my own with whatever resources I have Wish that the co-op had at least someone to play together with, but so far I can s-rank some hard mode levels (if I manage to get back soon enough after having a battle to the death with a devastator) And the unknown area's keep feeling rather tempting to want to explore in just because of the roads leading into it while being either blocked off or kill you within seconds
Bruh people hate this game and have never played it lol this shit looks so fun i don't see how people hate games like this but would love to play call of duty getting shot killing 5 people a game bc they trash they spend money on that it's crazy
The problem is it has metal gear written on it.. all the reviewers which tried it were probably metal gear fans.. which ended up being disappointed because its no metal gear. plus kojima got fired before this came out
@@DirtyGeorge no nobody would care about it then same as diablo immortal.. the appstore is full of games like that if it wasnt diablo, then nobody would care
I'm 10 minutes in and I've decided I'll come back to watch this after I've played it. I realized I've never even given the game a chance and have been smelling Kojima farts for a bit too long.
I'm actually enjoying this game. Sad that people are just biased because OMG REUSED ASSET(it's literally the same engine. Did we cry about reused assests from Ground Zeroes?) The one video I even saw before this one the guy was SO disengenuious he hurt... he said 'the game doesn't bother to explain[the zombies] so why should I' when yes, they did explain it all in the first hour if you bother to pay attention. It's an organism(sound famillar? vocal cord parasites? Nanomachines) Screw 'em.
I had similar thoughts about the game and the 'controversy' surrounding it. It makes me happy to finally see a level headed review of the game. Thanks for this!
MGS V was a mess from both sides. Kojima was appearently spending alot more time with promotional side than actually developping it. Explaining why the budget of the game exploded way above Konami's desires. and considering how long the game was in development. It lends word to how little of a shit Kojima actually gave about making the game. and considering that MG Survive is so much better and has way better gameplay than MGS V. It's really weird when people say Kojima was being held back. Especially since when he was given free reign and studio he made postman pat game that is heralded for story and nothing else. It's also really dumb when people say that "MGS shouldnt have zombies in it" when MGS V basegame has zombies in it when skull units revive dead as zombies.
5:51 - This is too right. I think I made this point in a forum once as well. This series literally has cyborgs, ninjas, ghosts, psychics, sentient AI, vampires, invisible forcefields and guys that can control bees, but zombies is a step to far?! cmon guys...
I don't care what people say, MGSV was not unfinished, or at least, not like how you described it. I just beat game's main story and did about 40% of the side missions, clocking in at about 100 hours. I skipped the repeat missions and made it through all the tapes. Coming from a fan of the games since the very first one for the ps1, MGSV is not only one of the best video game experiences, but it's probably my favorite MGS game, maybe second to 3. That ending, as well as Quiet's, was chef's kiss and, despite not being that big of a fan of the audio tapes, I wouldn't change this game for the world as it felt like a very complete experience that answered most questions.
I will admit that the spontaneous hate by videogamedunkey & angryjoe skewed my expectations on the game but when I became invested in the Metal Gear franchise, I couldn’t just leave it be. The game has many shortcomings but the later unlocked gear that was never shown by the previously mentioned RU-vidrs who only played for an hour at most. The special events in multiplayer with cosmetics that you can only earn by playing the game kept me interested whether that be Big Boss’s sneaking fatigues from MGS3 or Raider’s cyborg suit from MGS4. And the added defenses such as the Shagohod, Gecko, and even Metal Gear Ray & Rex made multiplayer matches more engaging. Though the introduction will and likely threw off many new players with the repeatability of attacking the wanderers but unlocking firearms, special weapons, and items/usables really allows many to approach combat in their way. A flawed but not terrible game. I give it an honest 6-7 out of 10. Great review btw.
Tbh if they were going to drop the price anyway Konami could have bought themselves alot of good will pricing this as $30 dlc/$40 standalone . But also tbh this wasn't any more of an "asset flip" than $60 full price releases like majoras mask, or fallout new vegas, or resident evil 3 (1999), or resident evil 3 (2020). And it was half the "cash grab" that metal gear solid integral or metal gear soild 2 substance or metal gear solid 3 subsistence or metal gear solid v ground zeroes was
True ! Look where this world is going to, times of confusion changing to times of stupedia. Love to Kojima, since 2001, he knew times will change, never ending wars.. war economy etc.
Stop pretending like the hatred for this game is blind and misguided, this game has no RESPECT, the creators of this game shafted the creator of the franchise and made a hinge of his game with lore and features he would have never added, this game is a mockery of Hideo’s work and deserves the disrespect it gets.
thank you for taking the time to show the game's many wonderful points. i just started playing it and have been enjoying it, too. your video was really superb -- clear and wonderfully demonstrated. Thank you.
I got it on release, purely for something new to play in co op with friends. I saw it as a bit of fun for a weekend, but I really enjoyed the singleplayer. MGS is my favourite series and I was genuinely sad when I found out Hayter was kicked out, I found MGSV not to be a stealth game and never finished it. But MGsurvive was a stealth game, had a clear vision and executed it well combining all the elements I enjoy (even some grinding). I saw all those reviews at the time, and that's when I stopped paying attention to reviewers at all and unsubbed from most of them, because they're clearly biased and foster toxicity and ego over all. I was only dissapointed in the lack of content and support but hearing it's since got some extra content am redownloading now.
Doing my first playthrough of MGSV and I just crashed in the storm with code talker, they really set up survival pretty well I haven’t touched it myself but from what I hear what went wrong
It wasn't a bad game I picked it up pretty cheap and I some what enjoyed, my biggest problem I felt like the was a huge difficulty spike that came out of nowhere and I could never get passed so I stopped playing it
Subbed. Love that you have your own take and deliver a measured reasoned view without the extreme antics that seem to get views up. If I wanted to watch cartoons I'd watch cartoons! Great video
I actually enjoyed Metal Gear Survive. If they made the single player longer like adding a final chapter after you destroy the Lord Of Dust where the captain and co find their way home. It could take place in the rest of the Africa map that goes beyond the road leading away from the mansion and the valley, past where the death barrier is.
Hey man, good video. Would've subscribed if you made content that wasn't about one, specific game that couldn't be less my thing! Oh, well, this was still fun.
ok so i like the fact that u defend this game which was washed with bad reviews so much..everybody loves an underdog! but.........mgsurvive is a mediocre game. i am a good player i even had the balls to get platinum and everyitem in the game which required all kinds of hearts, tangues, feathers from animals etc. i am not a guy who tried the game for 2 days and disliked it.. this game is a good game if you have leveled up and wanna have fun in coops. but its not a metal gear game..not because it a bad game with bad story etc but because its gameplay makes you forget everything the series offered you. 1st of all the stamina is a thing..at least at first. and the worst is that u lose stamina when you sneak on others..while in other mgs you would recover stamina while crawling here u just try to snek a wandered and u get tired..at the beginning of the game this is a nightmare. 2nd the series are known to have scenes and visuals etc.in survive the scenes you get are a few and u alsways get dialogues looking at photos of vergil and the other members...your protagonist doesnt speak has no soul...boring and idiotic..even mgPW and portable ops was better at that... the only time i was thrilled was the scene where u see lord of dust for 1st time but honesty its not even a scene.... 3rd to make another character you need to pay.....i wanted to make a female character and i did it from another acount...konami has to make money. 4rd worst platinum ever..so tidious..try to eat everything and if you dont not something you have not ate dont take any chances eat them all from the begining...try to make every small piece of the map visible...this one is pure stupidity...to the creators of this trophy i wish this was your last game u took part into..and even when by a miracle you get the platinum if you are perfectionist get what...farm obel coin forever because best items need obel coins!!! 5th yes u can avoid paying to reach all classes full level but hey this can take months of playing coops..you need the boost which grands x3 points and if you dont pay money u will need much time to gother sv coins needed for just one boost. 6th you dont have connection??then no access even to single player....THATS THE WORST OF ALL. overall its a good game but not thaaat good... as for a metal gear game its the worst..takes enemies that you love like cqc and sneaking and throws them into trash. and the op features like calling rex,ray getting cassetes etc they are indeed nice...but they are elements from other metal gears...if there was not a rex summoning the coops would be all mediocre..so yeah..best features on this game are elements from other games....
Not that my two cents matter much at all and a year after this video. 😅 but I really like the game. I love the concept the design and the story, it certainly could have done a better job at teaching players(the chapter select for example) and the codex calls in my opinion. But me personally I have to be in a mood for it. But when I am I play the hell out of it.
I honestly enjoyed mg survive only reason I actually quit was because almost every time I played I'd loose all my progress due to sync errors I feel like this game could've been even better if Kojima at least worked on this game (other than literally creating the engine and series)
Never gonna play it. Kudos to anyone who enjoyed it. Personally i just don't want to show support for new releases of a franchise that was stripped of its maker.
