About EZmix 2

DIZYENT . Although these softwares are good , i have much dislike for the level of commercial over exaggeration ; the celebrity status of the artists involved , THE BEST TONEZ - anyone can get those tones with a decent amp. Also the comparison of the dry takes and the plugin on are just silly - ofcourse dry takes sound shit , what do you expect ?

I think the only reason I would actually get this plug-in would be more to use it as a reference while i'm mixing to see what I'm doing wrong and what could be improved on

Lol thanks I tend to use those as my main sources when I'm trying to get tips and ideas for sounds when I'm doing metal, which is not the only stuff I produce! lol I do jazz, alternative and rap stuff as well

There are only two knobs for adjustments which are different on each preset. For the heavy tones ussually there is a gate and a drive knob

For someone that wants to learn mixing and production, skip this. You're very right in calling it a "cheat". Hell, if it provided these near perfect results out of the box without any work, it'd be worth it for the end result alone, but it doesn't. You still need to know some stuff; learn it's behavior. And if you start using it long term it will ultimately cripple your progress and understanding of it all without even providing that mindblowing sound.

Hi Lance, that is correct! Any EZmix preset pack needs the EZmix base software to be used.

So what's the fundamental difference between an amp and amp modeling software? You're taking a clean boring tone and tweaking it electronically to produce a desired result. Stop being a snob.

As much as this is something thats so tempting to get it's killing me and would make my life so much easier, at the same time it's not gonna help me understand mixing any better and is more of a cheat if I should say. Better for someone who simply just wants to record and make a song and that's it but ughhhhhhh it's so tempting I'd just feel like I'm cheating =/

Question: What amp-simulator is EZmix 2 using? A completely new amp-simulator for me to use and adjust as I want? Being stuck with presets isn't what I'm looking for even if presets is a good way to learn about some mixes. As an user of Logic Pro I'm sick of those amp-sims and I'm looking for new ones. Will I get that with EZmix 2? Can anyone answer this? Thanks!

Go for amplitube 3.0. It's a bit of a resource hog but as long as you run it stereo and have just a single fx bus with two tracks sending to it, it's great. Most computers should be alright. (although it's always better to have a great processor/ram)

Well if one cant record with mic in apartment for example then this is for someone. Hook up earphones and go. Works badass with fruityloops 8 and up. I got them to mess around.

Hi, EZmix 2 comes with a core library of great presets for many different instruments and genres. The Metal Guitar Gods pack is a separate expansion you purchase for EZmix 2.

Im getting too much bass from my guitar, making all of the plugins unusable, i dont have this problem with my pod hd 500, which im using as an interface, I have to roll off the bass frecuencies with an eq. Is this yo be expected?

i read on another video you should have your chain go from guitar>eq pedal>noise gate> than to the interface>ez mix2. i kinda figured out a way of just using built in eq with random vsts that i had and a built in noise gate for gr5. try that maybe? i jsut started working with it today so hopefully ill get the hang of it soon

I see the guitars are quad tracked. So where's the explanation how they're panned and the tones used for each guitar track? does anybody have a clue? I hope somebody could fill me in.

I assume they have 2 tracks panned completely to the left and completely to the right. Then the other 2 tracks are panned 70 % to the left and the right. Usually how it ends up being.

Agreed with Cameron Richardson, this is the most common way to do it. Then there are other crazy mix and mastering tips but way too complicated ^^

Why can't I bypass the signal from my pedal and just hear the tone from the guitar gods midi pack?...I'm hearing my pedals signal and the guitar gods signal at the same time ...with a 1 second delay?

Thomas Farrow Try plugging directly into your recording interface and record dry then apply the EZmix. If you still get a delay you may need more RAM in your computer to speed it up

Thank you. What would you recommend me? i want have the best recording quality as cheap as possible but i don't want to compromise quality for money. I am using Logic Express 9. Should i get Amplitube 2.0? thanks again.

Ezmix2 will probably run you like 300. 250 for the software and 50 for guitar gods. You want the expansion the generic software guitar tones are the worst.
