Today I checked out the music from youtuber Corpse/Corpse Husband. This was the first time ever hearing of him and I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed his music. Watch me give a genuine first reaction to hearing his voice and the music all together.

^ Thats the first time I've heard it called that, but it's super sick so Imma use it now lol. Anyway, Corpse does fall under a genre. A particular subgenre of underground hip hop with strong metal influences, dark themes, and sometimes has a lotta anime and video game references. It got big on soundcloud and has several RU-vid channels dedicated to promoting it, and they've been uploading music for years. It isn't new, its just getting more mainstream recognition. One of those channels is called TRASH, they make a lot of "Death Trap" AMVs and they're sick as fuck. TRASH is actually where I discovered Corpse lol.

Corpse Husband...is only 23. Narrorated true horror stories when he was younger..stopped when he ran into severe health problems...still dealing with those btw. Became instantly popular recently playing Amoung Us with famous streamers..then introduced his music to them...and blew up like crazy!!! He has fibro myalgia..and corpal tunnel syndrome and maybe tendonitis. And a severe case of GERD...which is damaging his vocal cords. His voice was already deep..but has become a lot deeper and raspier the last few years than compared to his horror story narration days.He has also been having problems with one of his eyes...due to symptoms of his illnesses.

And to add on to the comments about his version of GERD. its extremely painful for him and he has to take medicine for it all the time and docs can't even find a proper way to fix it. they may be/should be able to stop it from degrading more but theres no way to repair what has been done already. Check out his much earlier videos to see the difference from his most resent ones to see the change.

GERD in general sucks. I can't speak to his version but, if I don't take something for it then it feels like someone is constantly stabbing me in the stomach and even drinking water causes reflux. Afaik it hasn't effected my vocals so his has to be pretty damn severe. From WebMD, "Hiatal hernia happens when the upper part of your stomach moves up into the chest through a small opening in your diaphragm (diaphragmatic hiatus)."

oh also he’s been making music for 5 years but never really posted it. he’s voice is really deep because he has a condition called GERD that damaged his vocal cords

I thought his voice was deep due to high levels od testosterone and his GERD condition was making it more raspy, gruff, and painful. Regardless, he has dealt with a lot of struggles.

I always feel the need to mention that the reason Corpse’s voice is so deep is because he suffers from GERD.

He explained that it's the reason his voice is very raspy, but it didn't necessarily make his voice deeper ^^' That's been confirmed by a lot of comments from people who also suffer from GERD
