The great Funeral Mist was, for some reason, the first band I chose to make a video on. Swedish Black Metal has been appreciated by most of the metal fans all around the globe, and for good reason.
I mention in the video that I didn't find anything about his personality, but, by reading about him and everything I could find from him, (even though he avoided giving interviews for FM), I think I can, maybe, understand him a tiny bit better.

I don't really watch this kind of videos, but RU-vid somehow recommended it to me. First of all, congratulations on choosing Funeral Mist as your first video. I hope you'll make a video about Thy Darkened Shade from Greece. They have a very short but high quality discography. Another band recommendation is one of the main inspirations for TDS, Abigor. Almost flawless discography but they've got a bigger discography over 30 years. Greetings from Turkey!

There's a UK Black Metal band called Vestia. They've just announced their debut album, due to be out on the 19th May. That's my recommendation. It's completely self-recorded; with all the guitars recorded in a university bedroom and the drums recorded in a rehearsal room under a trainline. It was even mixed and mastered by the drummer.

Great video!, and yeah I think Daniel is definitely a perfectionist, he mentioned that he could be either very easy to work with or very difficult, because he had a very clear vision of what he wanted exactly. I think his lyrics, interviews, composition style, vocals and even stage presence with Marduk really make him someone admirable.

One of my favourite bands by my favourite vocalist. I really enjoyed this video. Very informative and well presented. I've hung out with Daniel and the Marduk guys a few times. I remember asking him how he gets his vocals so 'disgusting'. He told me he gets that question a lot, but only really thinks about how he wants to 'say the lyrics', and also said he drinks a lot of beer while recording, haha. Very nice guy in a casual setting. Wonderful video.

I knew Necromobus back when they did Salvation. As r as I remember there were some issues about writing credits, I don't know if that was the whole reason for the split but it was for sure part of it.

recommending Ondskapt, they're from Sweden too and have that same burning fire you can hear on every Funeral Mist album. "Dödens Evangelium" by Ondskapt is one of the best black metal albums I've ever heard.

You may want check out these bands, all of them are from Sweden: Setherial, Nåstrond 666, Nefandus, Craft, Armagedda, Throne of Ahaz, The Black and Sorhin. And speaking of Arioch, you may want to check out his other project Triumphator as well. He was doing vocals and guitars in this. They only made one album.

Never heard of them but I'll try them out. I do enjoy the sound of black metal. I dont think even for q minute that alcohol plays that big of a part. That's just an excuse. And this fellow has a super shallow way of looking at the world. Enjoyed the video thanks

I recommended Judas Iscariot the black metal artist, To Embrace the Corpses Bleeding its an awesome album one of my personal favorites. He defiantly has that recorded in his bedroom kind of production.

The alcohol thing had me laughing a bit cause I love black metal as my favorite music genre but I'm also Straight Edge 😂 I do understand the idea of alcoholic playing a significant role in ritualistic affairs, something that obviously black metal is linked to, but for me personally I reach such "ritualistic mindset" the other way around: by being lucid, and cultivating mind and spirit through devotion to physical training and reading. Interesting though, how diverse takes on this genre can be.

@@JoWinters it's hard to tell, but it reached mainstream Swedish news. It wouldn't surprised me given how the underground black metal scene moves here, but I guess the real discussion is: should we separate music from the artist?

Greece has some of the best black metal. Love their style, it's more technical, interesting, fits the occult themes, and it's not as emo/melancholic sounding as all the Finnish copycats that sound the same. Acherontas, Acrimonious, Serpent Noir, Thy Darkened Shade etc.

My opinion is intentionally not clear, it is a conversation I would prefer not to have on my comments to be honest, but I do have great respect for the people that are 100% involved with the original black metal scene, and they speak their beliefs.

Are you in USA? We drink plenty in underground edm clubs on top of everything else. Couple of the DJs here mix deathcore an metal with edm too. Bands: belphegor, inferi, sentenced, thy art is murder, kil krook, huntress, to name a few

You should check out the band JINJER. Female lead singer is one of the best vocalists ever. Even if you just listen to their music and don’t do a review/ analysis
