True story. I went to US for my undergrad.I went for some rap/hiphop concerts. Got lots of looks. Even heard somebody call me a terrorist. But never faced the same if I went for a metal gig. I even went for one metal gig in Columbia, SC where there were at most 30-40 people. And still every metalhead accepted me and was so genuinely curious about my views. I am not saying all other genres are racist. But the amount of love I got even in small pubs was eye opening. Much love to USA (my self proclaimed second home) from India
About a year ago I got a sudden craving for Punjabi metal. Not that I had ever heard of any. I was binging Bollywood movies and it struck me that the music would make fantastic metal. THIS is exactly what I was looking for and I LOVE it. ^^
This is the first Indian/Punjabi folk metal song I hear. Most of others bands just used oriental melodies, but this goes full in: the rhytmin is Punjabi, the voice is punjabi and the vibe is punjabi!
The ":D" emoji in the lyrics/subtitles cracked me up--that was a pretty brilliant choice. :) This is a really cool way for me to introduce my kids to the concept of Holi, and it will get them asking questions and wanting to know more. And since I don't know a whole lot about it myself, we'll be learning more about it together. :) Thanks for giving me a fun way to help my kids learn about other cultures!
If you're liking the Asian metal thing try Tenggar Cavalry from Mongolia. Traditional instruments & throat singing with big guitars. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jVxffY_Gpso.html
As I came home from my first visit in India I decided: "Yes, I will learn the "Indian" language!" So I learned a little bit of hindi. The next time in India I visited Gujarat: Gujarati! Punjab: Punjabi. In South India : Karnataka :Kannada, In Tamil Nadu :Tamil (2 different dialekts) in Kerala : Malayalam. There is NO Indian language. But with English you get around everywhere. No I prepare for my 6th visit to see the 4 holy places of Buddha. I don't know what kind of language they speak there but I will try it with english again. I love India and the Indian people but I can't learn all these languages. Too many! Namaste from Germany!
@@tanujkumar1576 Fascinating is the diversity in India. So many different languages and local customs . And I will never become tired to tell how hospital and helpfull the Indians are. In every more or less critical situation I found help from anybody, people i've never met before. And, what's the point for me, not for money or anything else. Just for a "thank you". I've been in many different countries but this is unique. Sure , you have to look who you can trust, but that's quite normal all over the world. When I'm in India , I stay close to the locals and the keyword is "respect" . If the people feel that you respect them you find the nicest people on earth.
I love how it's a metal song, but the lyrics are so positive. Lol a metal song that makes me smile... you guys are awesome, keep doing what you're doing🤘
I meant that Bloodywood have got good enough to say they're the equal of any famous folk metal act. I'm not saying European music is better than Indian.
i have watched this now 5 or 6 times. i cant get enough of it. you guys are not only singing with your hearts and souls, but you guys rock as hard if not harder than many bands out there. luck to you and all you do. i will be keeping a waiting eye on you guys.
I'm creating a "metal around the world" playlist at the moment and came across you guys. I absolutely love your style! Amazing! This will definitely be played regularly as I travel around the world!
celestial chorus I think they celebrate Holi in at Iskon Temple, Texas. Look up google If you are from America. Holi here in India is usually celebrated in the moth of march every year
Kevyn cagle: we get 2 variations, the actual hard paints and fireworks are of course chemicals. But the powdered form are purely herbal made out of natural colors
I hope that someday, I will have a chance to listen to you at Woodstock in Poland. This is a place of uniquely positive energy :D And im waiting for more videos from you guys!
Every 21st of September when Spring begins here, I blast this song at full volume. Neighbours don't understand what's going on but it surely is one of the happiest moments I have.
Amazing! I feel all of the joy you guys put into these videos! You've given me a lot of Indian music to explore; may I kindly ask to hear what you do with Tabla? It's among my favorite sounds :)
I really love you guys. This kind of passion is rare these days, especially if you consider the risk of mixing metal with Punjabi/Bollywood music and hoping for success.
As a 6'5" punk white dude who used to think tunak tunak tun was cool in it's own kind of way...... If you could've done this all of those years ago, I would've had an entirely different lifestyle! FUCKIN SLAYS!
Keep being original. It's how i found you. It's why i'll keep recommending! You're unique and this song proves i was right all along to follow :) Cheers bros ! Btw the subtitles were a great idea !
Kayenaat Sandhu With your name you wuold know that the Indian people are peaceful. They get more aggressive as time passes, but I hope not. This is a refreshing change from the metal shows I go to.
Damn it, I can not stop listening to this song! I wake up with it in my head, it pops up into my head while I'm awake, and then repeats the next day. Machi Bhasad, and Endurant, always follow when I listen to this one.
I loved it! My heart opened and accepted this amazing colorful energy! Thank you for your heartbeats, thank you for the music, the dances and the energy! Namaste!
Your words and sound are a beautiful gift. Thank you guys for it. You guys are Metal Badasses !!! You have a light called hope and it rings in your music ...
@@GiZmo55558 Actually I searched your channel in RU-vid...I saw you created a playlist where a live concert of batushka is posted... that's why I asked you
I love this so much - keep making more metal! If I had to pick a genre I'd say you're doing a wonderful job of broadening out what people think "folk metal" really is. The whole world owns folk metal!

I'm in Canada bumping this, and Bloodywood has inspired my desire to learn Punjabi, especially since it's so useful to have a second language in the business world
(1:45-1:55) The most smooth-as-silk bridge I've ever heard in a metal song. Props to you guys, and looking forward to more music! Hello from the PHL. 🤘🏽
I love your videos! I wish I knew what it was like to experience Holi it looks like such a fun, vibrant, beautiful, connective event! But this video almost makes me feel like I got to be a part of it. Thanks so much for sharing your world!
Just found you guys. Talented, high energy, entertaining. Keep it up, I hope for a big future for you. You've another fan and I'll be spreading the word.
