@@obelisk-empyreanenforcer1457 my ma really loves pop music, I always hated pop music it was all so shitty it was the same pervy crap repeated over and over and ever since I was young I felt there had to be something more than the trash I'm listening, too, it got so bad at one point I thought music was poison entirely and it would hypnotize you to become more docile and agreeable and of course make you want to listen to more of the stuff, so I built up a solid hatred of music, but without rambling on my comment on this video should be evidence enough I found my way, if you truly want to know how I found music worth ripping and tearing too and escaped from the shit hole of horny asshats moaning into a mic hoping soccer moms all over the world will praise their names, just ask.

@@obelisk-empyreanenforcer1457 thank you for the compliments, when I was really young my ma would take me on these Aron's and she would play pop music and I would begrudgingly go along, it got so bad at some points I knew the words to some of the songs she liked better than even she did, but one day my dad came home with the threat to survival album by shinedown, he played his favorite songs from the, at the time new album, when I first heard it it was like seeing the world in color for the first time I had heard music that didn't feel terrible to listen to, from then on I thoroughly enjoyed that album listening to it almost every day, eventually I wanted to hear more from this band that did things so differently than all the rest, so I found their previous albums, and enjoyed my way through them as well, fast forward to 2017, I entered high school, and I decided that I had been listening to the same stuff for too long and I needed to find something new so I got on one of those shitty school computers and searched for good music, I found a song by korn known as narcissistic cannibal, this was certainly a hard rock song but there was something different it had dubstep in it, and this was the first time I heard the stuff, it sounded strange but they way korn used it made me feel that world changing feeling of listening to shinedown for the first time, it was like seeing the world and not feeling it and then suddenly unlocking the feeling of touch, I personally love rock hard rock and metal, dubstep was new, and I didn't like all dubstep but I liked it when there was some rock mixed in here and there, but I still searched for years after that day, I found out what my taste in music was called, metalstep, it's basically metal but with a heavy investment of digital sound design, I searched far and wide for songs that held such an energetic feel, and to this day I search for music with that feel, skip to 2018 and the new shinedown album came out, it was called attention attention, almost every song I heard from that album was a banger, I listened to it for a good while. back in 2020 I was in my junior year of high school and doom eternal just came out, I hadn't really heard of what doom was before that but suffice to say mick Gordon did a great job with the trailer music cause I wouldn't have fell in love with doom music so much if that wasn't the case, recently I found an interesting fellow trying to find his way down the same path as mick Gordon, he coined a new name for his variant of metalstep he called what he made, argent metal, his name is Geoffrey day, he makes doom covers of other game soundtracks, often times he breaks down the soundtrack to build his cover, he's great at what he does and his music sits up there on the top of my list for greatest metalstep to ever exist, I have spent a good 5 years searching for the most energetic the most heavy the most inspirational metalstep to ever exist during those years I found many bands and solo artists who know how to make my ears bleed in all the right ways, if it wasn't for shinedown I wouldn't have made it out of the nightmare of my ma's music taste, i honestly don't hate my ma she's a great woman but she has some terrible taste in music, but anyways if it wasn't for shinedown I would be a lot more nihilistic than I am today, come to think of it their next album should be coming out soon shouldn't it... I wonder what it will be about, anyways, if you want I can share what these 5 years have brought me, metalstep wise, other than that I guess you can also theorize on the new shinedown album coming out in the comments
