I was really sad when Alazka split up - they used to follow me on Instagram and I met Tobias on the never say die tour. I felt quite the personal connection with em (and Kassim had one of the best voices I’d ever heard), so it really hit me. And when Matteo left Novelists, I was hit again. He was unbelievable, and in tandem with the incredible solos, he made the band stand out. Crushing lows and stunning cleans - but it was not meant to be. This song absolutely banged, the best merging of the two bands that could have been - an evolution of Novelists’s sound with Alazka’s spirit in tow. Tobias has become something truly special - his cleans have improved so much, and this new direction is seriously fresh. There’s hope yet for these glorious lads.

For me Matteo was what made this band special unfortunately. That's still good, but there's nothing standing out. Also this song is really a patchwork of unrelated parts, I miss something making this smoother

Okay, so, Novelists became a hugely significant part of my life everyday about 5 years ago in one of the worst periods of my life so far. Without being too dramatic, they kinda did save my life in that being able to listen to them made me feel less alone with my dark thoughts and distracted me from suicidal thoughts on several occasions. I just connected with the music and unusually for me, the lyrics as well. When i heard Mateus was leaving, i was worried that connection i had with the band would be lost. I'm gonna be honest, this wasn't a "bad" piece of music per se, the individual parts, instrumentally were as usual well written, however i feel like the structure and flow of the song didn't really make sense and seemed chaotic. This new vocalist, i like his voice, its certainly not turning me away but its definitely going to get used to not hearing Mateus' unique tone. EDM part was...Ehhhh, again, could be just getting used to it like the vocals. Keen to hear what else they've got, but i really hope the general novelists sound is still being maintained even without Mateus. Unfortunately for me this was not even close to being as emotionally charged and evoking as Mateus era. 7/10 for me. But i'm not just gonna fob these guys off after their first new release :) Enjoyed the hell out of your reaction as per usual Nik, thanks for being a positive influence on my life sir :)

I still prefer their old sound but this is pretty good too, Tobias is a great replacement as well, talented vocalist. Also Nick, please do check Matteo's(the old vocalist) new band called Sal3m, they sound great. I'm super pumped for new music from both Novelists and Sal3m!

I was very sad when Alazka had to split up 🥀, I love the combination of Tobias scream and powerful Kazimir vocal. But boy, Tobias clean in this song 👍🏽

I think the overall song is kinda meh, ripping off the whole BMTH thing, but that breakdown and the solo makes the whole song worth it. Overall just wish it would be more unique like Crystal Lake.

Aviations - Outliers. You need to hear this song my dude. Metalbirb and Galactic Criminal have done a reaction so far, and I strongly feel that every metal reactor out there needs to hear this song and needs to help bring this band the exposure they deserve.

Always enjoyed their new vocalist when he was in Burning Down Alaska / Alazka. The only time I heard him doing cleans was when the recently added clean vocalist left and they did a couple of singles before calling it a day. I really hope he’ll use more range screaming wise. Matteo has those crushing lows which I’ll miss for sure. But I know he’s a good vocalist, lets see how this will turn out on the other new tracks. Hopefully we’ll hear more next month.

Nah, this isn't Novelists anymore. Matteo just can't be replaced. Really feels like a patchwork of ideas meant to switch it up a bit but it just doesn't do it for me.

I feel like this is one of the soft tracks, like À Travers le Miroir. Bets on the next single being a banger

ANYONE MISSING MORE OF MATTÉO'S MUSIC: . I recommend checking out a band called: A Call To Sincerity. This was his first band, before joining Novelists. They have one album only. Now, interesting thing about this, is that I actually found out about Mattéo's potential as a singer through this band. And I remember that this was around 2014-2015 maybe. In any case, this band was no longer around when I found out about them. Then through a quick research I learned of Novelists through the song "Immedicable", and that was it. Instantly was hooked and it became one of my favorite bands of the genre. . Putting this aside, props for Tobias in joining the band. I wasn't really into Alaska's music, although I recognize they had talent. Great Flo and the other members managed to replace Mattéo w/ someone at his level (still prefer Mattéo though lol).

Not a fan but a good track. There's just too much happening most of the time. Nothing really stood out

Still getting use to it, the vocals mainly, mmm and I felt a little lack of what Novelists FR is recogized of, their riffs and melodies... Hopefully we can hear more of what was missing in my opinion in this first experimenting song. Other than that, It´s just great to see them back in the road, but that is my final conclusion. Flo has always been the heart of the band. I do notice the vocals is different its not bad but this is just one song, i believe and hope the vocalist will give us, fans, a tricky surprise. As long as its still Flo doing the guitar stuff, for me its still the Novelists i know.

Hell yes!!! I was so damn excited about this too. These guys never disappoint! This track kinda changed their direction a teeny bit, but it's a banger af! Loving it!

Novelists as we knew them , hardly exist any more. The originality gave way to musical conformism tinged with coarse samples. The guitars that were so worked on in the past absolutely do not emerge and are drowned under tons of various sound effects and infrabass. The new Singer don’t achieve to compensate the departure of Matteo , his shouting sound generic and his clean voice have no appeal , in general the lack of feeling is seriously felt. Only the guitar solo is , as usual , phenomenal. The rest of the musical landscape that Novelists had created has unfortunately disappeared. A long wait , who ended in a huge disappointment.😔

Im very suprised actually. For me Souvenirs was like the best Novelists had released. This is very fresh feels good.

I just found this band after seeing a Pete Cotrell video. so this song is what I started with. Naturally I'm inclined to disagree with your take on the chorus but like that's okay it's all subjective n'shit. Over all I think I found a new band id happily tell people to listen to.

Honestly... I hated the fuck out of it at first, but after listening on repeat I absolutely love it. It was just so different from what I was accustomed to from the band, but I'm glad I gave it a chance cause I'm super excited to hear what else they got in store

It's a catchy song, but it's not Novelists. The solo was the only part that gave me Novelists vibes. Seems weird to go in a completely different direction and alienate a lot of the fans. At least keep something from the old style.
