Wow, very nice. Only one thing better than having an artisan build a new panel, that's having two artisans build a new panel. Oh, and no annoying music in the background. Just the sounds of the workshop and the lesson. Nicely done.
Your work has been inspiring me for years,I have not done much shaping yet but you guys have given me courage to try things I thought would be impossible .I have two bikes and two cars which will be 'Altered' in various ways,maybe not the 'Valigirl' ,I have made some patch panels for my 70 Valiant wagon,just waiting for my long awaited TIG to arrive and they will be going on asap.Thanks again guys you are Magic! My 13 year old son wants a Porsche any one will do ,I said I can't buy you one, so we will have to build it ,for some reason that actually seems quite possible?
Re your comments at 3:45 I assume you stretched the section that you subsequently turned into the flange but that's not in the video? I'm a little confused because one minute you refer to stretching in then you show us that you're shrinking it. I can understand that the more material above the swage line will cause the return to hollow and conversely shrinking will bring it back up again.
I was just wondering what gauge or thickness of what material would be good for car door covering and what thickness and material that you are using in this vid.
