Dou mean the English wheel ? If so....a good one can be very expensive, but there are cheap ones around . Or you can make your own frame and buy the top wheel and lower anvils from us , visit my web site for details
Fantastic teacher and tradesman. When I was a panel beater they would tell us off for doing the job properly and say bog it hurry up. Then modern cars came along and i just lost interest. Great video.
@Handbuilt1 so true , they are just assemblers now. Usually the car is a write off even from a small tap. Mate has a panel shop and said most can't even weld now. Very sad to see but everything is throwaway.
Hi Peter , i've been following your channel, you are truly a master, i have a question , what brand and type are those blocking hammers ?? Or where i can get them i will appreciate your info thanks
Luv it I have a question about wire forms I’ve been looking at what Tukseo cars in Bali do they have full body outside wire forms constructed inside ridged frames and are making entire reproductions of cars are these some sort of holding jig for fitment and assembly? Thanks JA
this is the new dvd serie 11 as far as the panel beating video you need to purchase series N 10........... or watch for free on youtube '' metal shaping for beginners''
thanks for taking the time to create these videos Peter. they are full of very useful information. i have a question on where you put the weld seams on the front and rear fenders - the panels sitting on the buck appear to curve beyond the centre line of the panels. are you putting the weld seams more toward the inner side of the fender centre line or is this simply because the panels sitting on the buck need more trimming back to the centre line before welding?
It's interesting coming back to these videos and your DVD's after working in the trade for years. I see a lot of details I didn't pick up the first time, because my experience level wasn't there yet. There is a wealth of information in this one video alone, thank you Peter!
Thank you keep watching all the others you tube video's for more info's .You can also buy others instructional dvd's from 1 to 10 simply visit my web site
Thank you for taking the time to post this Peter. The 1200 grit blocking can't be argued. With a low crown panel like a door skin, one might be able to get away with using the flat dies. For polished high crown panels, it seems imperative to use full radius or you will be forced to sand heavily to remove the flats. I purchased your DVD's many years ago and they helped me quite a lot.
blocking or block means hit the metal with a blocking hammer (like shown on the video) in order to primarily shape the metal before wheeling it , this method it's not necessarily always used it all depends on the shape of the panel you are making.
Ciao Peter, commento in questo video ma li sto guardando tutti, quello che fate è incredibile, siete dei veri artisti, COMPLIMENI è un lavoro che noi carrozzieri comuni mortali ci sognamo di fare. Saluti dalla Sardegna
